I actually have her in a large hibiscus tree in a 5ft tall mesh enclosure with a large pot filled with organic soil and about 12 inch of the coconut substrate on top of that. I figured if she wouldn't use the pot I would do a seperate laying bin with sand. I lucked out though.
She did eat...
She's doing good! She laid her eggs yesterday morning. She laid 56 eggs, we couldn't believe it! Everything happened the way I read it would which made me happy! However, today she is still a dark gravid color and although she is much smaller she still looks like she has a tiny pouch in her...
I just wanted send out a thank you to everyone who have me tips and advice! I am proud to say that my girl Amelia finally laid her 1st eggs ( they are not fertile so maybe they are called something else). I was getting very concerned for awhile there because she's about 10 months. Anyway as a...
Breeding bin
I do have a laying bin next to her tree with a vine going in and I keep the sand wet so she can tunnel. I put a few fake plants in there to add a little more privacy. She is about 8 or 9 months I believe, she has not laid eggs yet so I've been looking for the signs. I thought that...
I need to find a pet store in New Jersey or Philadelphia pa area that has a good reptile selection. Specifically I am looking for a large screen enclosure that stands at least 4ft. My Veild Chameleon is a free range Chameleon and has getting extra adventurous. She use to just leave her tree to...
I can make it like that. How long do they have to lay them once they are there? Is it possible that maybe she is just a little fat from the meal worms? Cause I have felt her stomach and it dosn't feel like there is anything in there. Now I'm worried. Is there anything else I can do or any other...
Please don't tell me they are eggs!
Oh jeez, don't say that! I do have a laying bin for her its a large flowering pot looks a little bigger then 12x12 and its filled a bit more then 1/2 way with play sand. I put her in there a hand full of times when I would catch her at the bottom of the cage...
Yes, I will def be getting crickets now that its warmer. I also give her wax worms on occasion.
Question though I just started free ranging with my chameleon 2 months ago she live in her Hibiscus Tree with no enclosure. Before I had her in a large Exo-Terra and feeding her crickets was no...
This is my first chameleon and I don't plan on being without one ever again haha I love taking care of her but do you think since I am sort of new i shouldn't be free-ranging? She seems to be doing better since I lost the tank, much more active.
She does wonder from time to time right up the...
That's okay. Yes I keep her without :D enclosure, so far so good and its been 2 months. Although i do wonder if its okay to do since i notice not many other people do and there is usually a reason for this.
yes. I use 100 watt basking bulb. I use to use two and had two different basking spots since she has no enclosure just the tree and i was worried about the temp but she seems to be fine with just the one.
What do you guys think the best UVA/UVB bulb to use? She lives in a 4 1/2-5 ft hibiscus tree with no screen enclosure. I was thinking of getting a second Reptisun 5.0 bulb and having two. Or do you think one is fine or is there another bulb I should be using?
More Info
Ok here is the rest of the info. Also yes we keep the house cool, even in the winter months, nothing crazy but then some people may think 68-70 is crazy in the winter haha.

Hello, I bought a baby chameleon about 6 or 7 months ago and they said she was 6 months old but after doing research there is no way! I did a ton of research when I got her and have been waiting for signs of her needing to lay eggs ever since (knowing she could become egg bound was very scary)...
