Thanks
Thanks to everyone. Things seem to be back to normal.
She took two crickets from me this morning as that is all the time that I had to feed her.
No problems with the stickiness of the tongue.
She has been basking in her spot with mouth closed.
I increased the misting and the...
thanks for the tip on the gut lading crickets. How do I get her to eat them?
Since introducing the drip, she doesn't seem to be drinking from the misting of the environment. Before the drip, I used to feed her with a syringe and tube. I will try that for a while too.
Thanks...
I have the drip running for about an hour everyday. I just do the misting about 3 times a week for humidity control.
I have seen her drink from the drip the odd time.
This is new today. When she yawned, she flattened out her body and then it went back to normal.
Will mist some more...
Graceful chameleon doesn't seem to be eating. Stays still with mouth open a lot now - see below.
Feeding Crickets that are fed with lettuce, carrots and cucumbers. Cham get crickets dusted with Exo Terra Multivitamin once or twice a week.
Used to feed by tweezer one or two crickets and...
Only ever used Multi Vitamin by Exo Terra - powder supplement for reptiles and amphibians.
Tongue seems to shoot fine. No problems there. The problem seems to be with keeping the crickets in his mouth. They seem to break free before he can swallow.
The only other thing that I have notice...
We have a graceful chameleon that we've had for about 14 months now. When we first got it (not sure if male or female) feeding was good about 4-7 small crickets a day.
Crickets are gut loaded before feeding and twice a week they are dust coated with a multivitamin (ExoTerra).
Over the...
Have a graceful Chameleon for about a year now. Around 6 months ago, we were told it was a female but they weren't too sure and that it may be easier when older so here I am asking 6 months later.
Here is what they were looking at before:

Coming up to about 10 months
So while we don't know his exact age, we assume that his is will be 10 months next week (3 months at purchase). Here is what he looks like today:

Change....for better or worse?
So as indicated, I removed the substrate out of the tank.
Gotta admit, I kind of miss it. Just feel that the vines were a bit more secure with the substrate but he doesn't seem to miss it.
Here is what his cage looks like now.

Currently I am using Exo Terra Multi Vitamin for the crickets. I dust the crickets only twice a week.
Crickets are gutloaded using a variety of things: lettuce, cucumber, spinach, cantaloupe, and sometimes orange.
The crickets vary in size...usually about 1/2 - 3/4"...just whatever they...
Any thoughts on male or female? I was told to add some pics of the vent area so here there are:

I got my first cham about 3 months ago and about 1 month ago I started to introduce a drip for the same concerns about drinking.
Prior to that I almost always saw my cham drink from the leaves and even from the back of the tank as the water ran down the back from misting. There were days...
We picked him up from the local PJ Pets here.
I am there pretty often cause I buy the rats for my snake there.
The staff take good care of the pets that they have there and are pretty knowledgeable about them.
I feel pretty good about the advice they give since they have been very...
Graceful Chameleon
Our cham is a graceful chameleon. Family loved it.
Not sure if male or female but we are calling him Pascal...after the cham in "Tangled".

Wow...
There is so much variance out there that I am both a bit worried and confused....
So we have had our cham for about 3 months and assuming that it was at least 2 months old when we bought it, let's use 5 months as his age.
Some say the cham look fine, not under fed....other are...
Substrate getting on my nerves now
So...I was going to wait for the summer to get rid of the substrate so that I can do it outside and not have to deal with any mess but it is starting to get on my nerves a bit.
I don't know if it is just my tank set up or what but here is my new "tank...
Substrate...
So after about 2 months and many of your suggestions and concerns, I have decided that overall, the substrate is going to go. However, I have found some good points in having it there....
1. Makes the tank look more complete (at least in my eyes even though the cham very rarely...
