    Panther Cages

My lights are on the outside of the cages and they still produce a little too much heat to keep my pothos from wilting! I should switch plants I guess. 10inches from a 75watt light is too much for them I suppose. About once a week I have to pull one out for a day or two to let it...

    have a question regarding screen...

Someone had a thread on here where they used a half gallon (or full gallon) milk container that was split open and lined with a fine mesh. You pour crickets in the bottom, they climb up the mesh and the cham nails them. Crickets are too stupid to jump away from the side of something so they...

    Advice

I think I have one of the most tolerant veileds around. When I first got him (before I found this site) I used to hold him a bit and let him roam around. I'd always be bugging him for some reason or another. However, as he has gotten older (and I've gotten more educated) I leave him alone...

    showering

Yeah and use a fake plant. I made the mistake of putting a real one in with dirt. So guess what my tub looked like after about 5mins when I came to check?

    Bamboo

If you go to Lowes or Home Depot, outside in their garden area they have these 4ft long pieces. About as big around as a large pen. They run about $2. Buy 3 or 4 and cut them to fit. You don't have to be able to afford a plant to get some bamboo in there.

    Bamboo

I asked that question a while back, but I was concerned about them climbing on it since it looks so slippery. The answer is yes its safe and yes they can easily climb on it.

    How Far??

Oh I can't remember who owns Jake and Fred but he posted a picture of them reacting to each other. He said that they spotted each other from across the room, about 20ft. Chameleons aren't the largest things so I'd say they have good eyes.

    I want one

I wouldn't call a veiled nasty. I WOULD call them moody, irritable, stubborn, and just overall pains in the butt :D

    Conventions

I keep seeing how people find their chams at conventions and such. I've not seen one in my area. How do you find out when and where they are if they don't come to your town? I wouldn't mind travelling. Also...if someone who has been to them gets bored, could you post some pictures of the...

    Zillas new Custom Cage

Could you take a picture of the underside of the bottom? I'm interested to know how you attached the wood to give it that nice incline. I never could figure out a good way to do it.

    umbrella plant question

My cham hates his umbrella plant so I don't have it in his cage. I do put him in it when I clean out his cage and he tolerates it for about a half hour before trying to find a way to the floor. My problem is that the plant thinned itself out pretty bad to accomodate lower light levels but...

    Sleeping early

So is it a good idea to adjust your timers to better match the chams sleep cycle? Or I should I just leave it the way it is?

    First Chameleon?!!

It doesn't matter which one you ultimately decide on....you will end up hopelessly addicted to them all! :)

    Veiled Colors

The really do have a variety when angry. I've only seen Clyde really angry two times. Once when I was moving around a stick and it got a little close. The second time was when I tried to pick him up with a glove he didn't approve of. He looks more like JH's Baltazar...black outlines on his...

    Ideal cage w/drainage

Keep us posted on that! I'd be interested to see how you guys designed them. I might be on the market if they would make my cage easier to deal with! :)

Male Veild acting a lil strange

Mine has been climbing along the side of his cage lately too. My guess is that he is maturing and starting to feel comfortable enough to do something different.

    Apartments and Pest Control

Well I didn't let them spray in the room. They typical don't use an aerosol or anything, just a fine jet that sprays into cracks and stuff. Came home today, Clyde is as green as can be without being asleep so I guess he's cool with it.

    Apartments and Pest Control

Lets see who the real experts are out there. This is a tough question so here goes! :) What affect will Gentrol and Demand have on a chameleon? This is the type of pesticide that is used in my complex to eliminate pests and what not. Since I don't know, I didn't let them spray in the...
