Haha yeah, she eyeballed it for awhile then just reached out and grabbed it... diamonds are a girls best friend I guess, cross species.
Can anyone estimate how old she is? I got her from LLLreptile and they just listed her as a "baby", but I don't really know what that correlates to in...
If that was a good petco, the animals would never be in situations like that to begin with. It is refreshing to meet employees that genuinely care though, even when their work environment makes it difficult to.
Silkworms can be a staple; mealworms cannot. You really don't even need to mess with the leafy greens aside from using them to gutload your feeders.
You may have to section part of this cage off, it seems really large for a baby veiled. If you're getting a baby veiled, the bulb you got may...
Chameleons need air circulation, is any part of the tank you bought screened? Most people here tend to use mesh or metal screened cages. You'll also have to think about drainage, as all that water you mist in has to find a way out eventually. In addition to misting, you'll need some kind of...
I'm new to chameleons, but I know in other reptiles calcium usually isn't the issue when it comes to oversupplementation, but D3 and vitamin A can cause problems in large amounts. Too much vitamin A can cause skin problems (and more serious things) and too much D3 is bad for kidneys and...
Yeah, I smashed my nail in the brake on my bike. It wasn't pleasant. There is also two sets of hands in those pictures... the girly ones wearing the ring belong to my fiancee.
Sure it may be possible, but it isn't ethical or adequate husbandry as those animals have different vivarium requirements. You might keep them alive for a year, but the person who made this thread was concerned with providing a proper home.
I think it would depend on the type of orchid you get, because a lot of orchids are sensitive to over watering so I can see a misting routine being a problem. They would look very nice though in a terrarium if you could control the moisture on the plant.
I've always wondered if they're dreaming about something exciting when their colors get like that. My chameleon gets all fired up when she sleeps like she does when she's getting a cricket.
I don't know if I need to make a new thread in the feeding forum or not, but I'm having some issues feeding my chameleon.
Tomorrow I will have had her for a week, and until yesterday she was eating great. I free ranged some crickets and she also ate out of a cup. However, yesterday, she didn't...
Wow that's sad. I just got my veiled from Chameleon from LLL reptile because I'd seen good reviews. Mine is eating fine though and seems perfectly healthy. I imagine a reptile convention is probably stressful on an animal no matter what.

The people who have one eyed chameleons in that thread seem to say that there chameleons do ok, thankfully. Reptiles are a pretty resilient group of animals.
