My girls do that when there ready to lay...I actually found one on the bottom of her cage today. I put a laying bin in there and she was digging 20 min later.

I recently started a thread about this. It was concluded that hatchrite does dry out. This is due to the fact that too many air holes are used. With hatchrite only one small air hole should be used based on harchrite directions. It was further discussed that many people don't use any air holes...
Definitely wash the plant good and organic soil is definitely a plus but not required. I've always kept live plants in original pots with no problems. I dig out the top 2-3" of soil and fill it with coco husk. This is the same bedding used for frogs and other amphibians. This is just one way to...
