    Jackson subtypes differences?

A few years back we had a litter born and gave a dozen babies away for free here on chameleon forum. Most were mailed out but one guy from NJ and one from NYC drove to the house. My wife Deb fussed a little about strangers coming over. I said "Hey, I met them on the chameleon website--- how...

    Jackson subtypes differences?

Hey, that article describes the animals we've has as xanth, as most of our purchases came from wild populations in Hawaii and Florida. We've never bought nor had born a female with a horn. I've got videos of my oldest girl (human) as a toddler with a dozen Jackson babies climbing all over her...

    Jackson subtypes differences?

Thanks for the posts and photos. Jacksons are my first love. The word "xanth" in Greek means yellow. So are they a different color? I've seen photos of the meru also and the males seem more colorful, but the differences seem subtle at best.

    Jackson subtypes differences?

Hello from Philadelphia. We've kept Jacksons for 20 years, but I am unfamiliar with the subtypes listed-- meru, xanth, jacksonii. Are the less common varieties anything worth pursuing? I suppose ours have always been jacksonii, the most common. What are the physical differences between the...

just a male or a pair?

Hello from Philadelphia. I've never had a male chameleon kept alone, whether it was Jackson or Panther. Pairs have been housed separately, out of view of the other gender but exposed to each other from time to time. The posturing and mating behaviors are interesting to watch, if you don't...

    Wild caught, deworming, etc

UGH! Wild-caught seems so fraught with problems. I understand the concept now of the higher price for CBB instead of WC. But now I feel like I might cough up a lung worm. This is really nasty crap. Guppies are looking better and better.............................. I will look at all those...

    Wild caught, deworming, etc

Thanks but can you narrow it down a bit for me? There's so much and I'd like to know what common practices are.

    Wild caught, deworming, etc

Hello from Philadelphia. I've been keeping chams for 20yrs. I've never owned a wild- caught cham, but some of the offering here look tempting. Can anyone walk me through what would. We'd to be done? There are no exotic species vets nearby, so are the treatments disease or species specific...

    which Trioceros is best??

Trioceros Hey thank you all for your input. The above photos make my little heart skip a beat. I'm surprised to hear the Ho's prefer the warmer temp, but this is why we're here to learn. Our Jacksons would GLOW brilliant green as low as 45F outside in a good rainstorm, and God forbid they got...

    which Trioceros is best??

Hello from Philadelphia. We’ve got 20yrs experience with Jacksons (some with Panthers) —endless litters born and sent out. A few years back we cleaned out all our stock and supplies, but now everyone misses the little critters. I’m partial to the Triceros family and the montane species. Do any...

I think my Jackson's going to drop her babies tomorrow morning!

baby jacksons It always happens at the crack of dawn---you wake up to what looks like escaped crickets running around. Only once did we actually see the moment of birth, which is actually quite gross. WE always got about a dozen but reports say as many as 40. Your female looks like she's got a...

Hello from frigid Penna. We have 20years of experience with Jackson's and even make some cash giving our robust litters to a reliable pet store in the area. (A few years back we even gave out for free a dozen babies to the Cham forum members). We are interested in T. hoenelii, but I cannot...
