I have three exo terra digital thermometers in my viv. I have 2 in the basking spots, one of which is about 33degrees and the other one is around 29 degrees. I sit both of these thermometers directly under each basking lamp wrapped around the branch discreetly with the probe sticking out (then...

I use orgasnic compost with great success for my live plants... if your chameleon is a baby or juvenile though dont use substrate.
Adults can handle swallowing small ammounts, but still, swallowing none is better than swalling a little bit.
I guess its down the personally pref, if you...
Personally if you decide to get a glass enclosure I'd keep eyes on your chameleon for the first couple of days.
It may stress out due to being able to see its reflection, if this is the case try covering up the sides of the glass with hanging plants (the ones with suction cups). I hear this...
I have just re-read your post. You're talking in inches right? Depending on the size of your chameleon that might be quite a big set up and he/she maybe stuggerling to find his/her food.
I think you mean 100W that's probably to hot for a baby chameleon, baby chameleons cant handle high temperatures as well as adults can. They find it more difficult to control their body temperature.
I know veiled chameleons like hot basking spots, but based on the size of your set up I would...

I use RO water for both my misting and rain system (having just recently changed from tap water because I dont like the build up of mineral deposits on the glass), my chameleon drinks from this. My only issue with RO water and im not sure if its even an issue... is it's "pure" water, there are...

Ill check it out, thanks for the reply.
With the size viv I'm using would you recommend using TWO 50/60W bulbs and adjusting the height of the branches until i get the right temperature for the basking spots?... and keep these on all day?
...or keep ONE higher wattage bulb i.e. the 100W...
