yeah this sucks i feel so bad for him he is one of my best. he doesnt seem too upset right now but i would be. well i dunno its a sad day for klaus. but i feel he is one of my most likely to still thrive, he is a pretty tough guy so i guees all is well for now.
Well I managed to get an emergency appointment with the vet. He stopped trying to get the tongue in by himself, but I can no longer see the hard bone sticking out (which looked all red before :( ) so I guess that's an improvement. The vet said they were going to sedate him, try to put his tongue...
Thank You guys. I have him in a box, wet towel in the bottom, and he's going to see the vet tomorrow; first appointment I could get :-/ . I'll keep you posted on his progress. <3 thanks again
He's been trying for about an hour now to get the tongue back in his mouth. I've tried using tongs to help him but he's too nervous, they just make him back away. He almost had it back in but it became stuck on the branch and then he dropped it all out again. Please help me..
I'm nervous about moving him. He's one of our most feisty chameleons and he's always snapping even when you just walk by the cage. I'm worried he's going to bite his tongue off if I try to move him.
This just happened about ten mintues ago, we have about 20 chams and I've never seen this. My panther Klaus was trying to eat a goliath worm, and he missed the target. His tongue smacked against the bottom of the cage and he was unable to retract it. He was laying on the bottom of the cage a...
its really a weekly chore that we have down to a science we can clean every cham cage in about an hour as long as there is some good music going. same for all the snakes. it used to take about 4 hours but we just kept working on it and now its reasonable. getting rid of most of the live plants...
there are lots of company's that make them look for units with belly heat! back wall heating is not as good. the rest is really up to you. if your handy you can build them yourself . the 2 black units are from pvccages.com they are ok but im not overly pleased with them. they are a little flimsy...
yes i do breed them ive been breeding snakes for a while now just started working with the chams a little over a year ago my females are all coming of age so ill be starting with them soon. the chams are on a bunch of stuff i have shelving in parts, tank stand in others and on top of the snake racks
thy python is s spider but not a normal spider its nicknames a stryder as it has a solid stripe down the back. the tubes i think your seeing are my mist system it runs to every cage. what shelving? the snake racks? those are heated racks meant for housing snakes or lizards. i keep some geckos in...
its what used to be a dining room that we didnt use we just eat in the kitchen and there is a bathroom in the corner that used to be a closet so its nice to have the sink right there to dump water and stuff
so i contacted the breeder and showed him photos of his all grown up boy and his reply was that a mistake had been made and skeltah is in deed an ambilobe. so thanks for the replies about him.
the decorations are all fake, the plants on the bottoms of cages are real. and no i havent had any problems with colors in the cage. my chams dont seem to care one bit. just rinse the flowers before you put them in the cage the excess dye bleeds out the first time they get wet
thanks everybody who commented and yes they keep me very busy. the safety concerns about drowning with my adults im not really worried with the younger ones im thinking of stapling screen over the tops just gotta get to it. at the same time i do not let them get very full it makes it harder to...
