This is Rio, he is a juvenile Veiled a chameleon I got him from FLChams.com he still pretty timid but very much so full of life.
Experience with FL Chams:
Was very easy the Owner stayed in contact the whole even when there was shipping delays he got in contact with his rep right away so I...
Okay guys. So the past few days Leon has been acting weird. Also I had a lot of things happen.
1. My chromalux basking bulb blew and I had to switch him to Arcadia basking bulb.
2. Mist king got air in the line and wasn’t pushing out normal water pressure. Which threw humidity off.
3. Ran out...
Okay this is probably going to be a stupid question.
But for the feeding program earth pro A everyday on day 4 of feed are you guys mixing earth pro an and calcium/mg?
Same thing with D3
So I’ve noticed the last few days that Leon seems to be moving slower. Eating fine, eats like a little pig. But he just seems sluggish. Some mornings it takes him an hour just to get to wanting to move to his basking branch and some days he gets it in gear and he’s up there within a few mins...
Leon got a new Tree it’s a Cat Palm. He loves it!!
He also had other plants in there they will probably be shifted around til I find what I’m comfortable with.
I emailed Todd from Light your reptiles and his recommendations are an
Arcadia Forest T5 6% bulb
Arcadia Jungle Dawn for...
Petco had this little lady and her housemate as piebald and has them at $150.00 but I call bullpoop and I think they’re your standard veiled chameleon. Am I wrong?
They said their colors will come in later 😂🤣.
No, no they most certainly won’t.
So Leon is acting weird.
He only wants to be clung to the top of his enclosure.
When his mister goes off instead of drinking off the leaves, he goes straight to the top of the enclosure.
When his lights are on, instead of sitting in his basking area he goes right to the top of his enclosure...
While the loss of Jade still stings, nothing will bring my baby back. And she would want to know that someone else had a chance like she was given…even though she was a moody little thing.
Today I adopted a juvenile that the pet store has set as unsellable because they said he had problems...
I wanted to post some information on blood values here since they’re so confusing.
I know my chameleon had labs done and understanding all that is just confusing sometimes.
Even working in the Vet Med industry I don’t get it sometimes.
So my girl recently after started having a lot of swelling in her joints so I instantly suspected gout. Origin not known (primary, secondary, or pseudo).
Yesterday she had labs done.
Her results are attached. I’m still waiting to hear back to see if they think Pseudo gout could be the cause...
So I have a veiled chameleon she’s about 1.5 YO now.
When I got her she had a potential history of possibly having gout. Her uric acid in her blood was high.
Since then she’s been living in a bioactive set up with a wide variety of bugs some of them just there because they are she’s a picky...
Ok guys. I finally have my bioactive set up about done. I have 1 annoying problem. Fruit flies. How do I keep them out of her enclosure?
They’re like everywhere. And she doesn’t really eat them she just lets them be
Sooooo….
Ms Jade needs new lights, and not only do I want these lights to work well for her basking and daylight needs, I also want my plants to benefit from them.
Any ideas on what I can use for the little lady?
While my bioactive set up is still a working progress, i have a chameleon who craps down the side of her enclosure. I want it to be sanitary. What is everyone else using to clean up?
I’ve had someone tell me chlorhexidine and I’ve literally never heard of using that in a reptile enclosure
So since I had to replace my mister because it broke. Do you guys add reprisals water supplement to the mister water?
2. This powder was recommended to me because Jade is picky. Finger’s crossed 🤞 she will eat her food with it. How long do you think before her supplement bumps go away?
I’m sure there are posts everywhere about this topic so I’m sorry if this seems redundant. I have a veiled Cham. Estimated to be between 6-8 months old.
I have her in a dragon stand hybrid cage which she absolutely loves.
Now I know chammies spend all or most of their lives in trees and...
