With a baby on the way I'm giving up my hobby of keeping chameleons. I have
clamp lights and other ceramic socket reflector dome light fixtures, Exo-terra jungle vines,
small size screen cage (I used for trips to the vet, or when Chams were babies),
cricket keepers,
nice madrona tree branches...
Healthy, happy Senegal female for trade for another Cham.
This girl is about 10 months to a year old. Vet checked - clean & healthy.
She gets a variety of food that is calcium and calcium + d3 dusted; automatic, timed watering; she currently lives in a 2.5 x 3 x 3 foot cage.
I'll upload...
Attached are photos of a new Senegal I just picked up. I'm thinking its a female judging on the thin tail base. However, I have never owned a senegal (I have owned chameleons though) so please give me your input.
thank you,
Laura
Pokey has extra saliva and is gasping for air (today is the first day of this) I took him to the vet first thing this AM and she called it pneumonia, not uppper respiratory infection (URI). she said his lungs are full of fluid and put him on amikacin injections every third day. she said to...
so yesterday (friday) i saw a new dropping in pokeys cage that had blood in the urate. nice, bright red blood. so i cut off the leaf and took it to the vet for a culture and to set up an appointment for today (the ealiest opening) the vet checked him out and said he seems fine, and to watch for...
I had the vet check my cham for parasites less than a month ago. Today in his cage i found this. Is it parasite eggs? they pop when pressed firmly.
He ate a silkworm Moth yesterday. Is it a possibilities its eggs from that moth?
I will be so angry if its a parasite
My Chamaeleo trioceros fuelleborni has a swollen leg.
*First let me give you the back ground:
He just got over a battle with pseudomonas. During that battle he had gotten an abcess in the corner of his mouth. after weeks of treatment with amikacin it went away.
about 3 weeks ago i...
Pokey is on his 3rd round of Amikacin to fight off this pseudomonas and to me it seems like its not working. Is there anything else i can do to help Pokey with this battle.

so i got poke to the vet today after he was trying to throw up yesterday. i thought maybe he was getting an upper respiratory infection because he kept puffing air out after eating, and it seems like hes had more saliva lately. but the vet thinks its just a really bad infection throught all of...
Pokey is trying to throw up i don't know why. last thing he ate was a cricket over a hour and a half ago
he stopped now and nothing ever came up but that scared the crap outta me. why did he do that? what COULD i do?
i'm calling his vet tomorrow for an appointment.
I always keep Pokey's cage clean, but once i month i take everything out and clean (and rinse) everything very thoroughly. and when i put everything back in i put it back, kind of the way it was, this last time i turned his main, big, plant 180 degrees so the lights hits it at a different angle...
i'm doing an informative speech on chameleons in my public speaking class. i only have 5 minutes to spit out as much info as i can. but i wanted to include the year the first chameleon was discovered and the year the most recent one was found, then the number different types of chameleons and...
Pokey today while i was cleaning out his cage. i let him hang out on his "poop stick" as it is now refered. i need to buy him another one, that thing is too hard to clean
the abcess will be treated with Amikacin injections. does anybody know anything about "Amikacin"?
his abcess in infected with pseudomonas. for some reason i feel that last time he was treated for pseudomonas it never cleared up all the way.
I really don't know what to do for this girl. there was about a 3 week window in all of the time that i've had her that she lived on her own. and then for some reason she stopped.
