My chameleon has been eating crickets out of my hand for about a week now, I'm working on getting him mealworms and possibly super worms as treats he's only eaten crickets in his life so I assume he's gotten bored of it. Whenever a cricket gets near him he gets really dark with vivid patterns...

My chameleon always turns a grey-brown to black whenever he's basking. Is that because he isn't absorbing enough heat so he's changing into darker colors to increase how much heat is being absorbed? Another theory would be his basking spot temperature isn't high enough? It's at 80.1 usually...
I just got my chameleon today and I've noticed the first time I cut his lights off, he wanted to climb all over the cage. Is this natural? It's probably just him looking for his basking light, right?
