Are there any risks for catching moths to feed Larry?

I have seen a few moths outside that don't look too big for Larry to handle, I was curious if there were any reasons why I shouldn't try to nab some. I thought I read somewhere about wild caught bugs having parasites, that is why I am asking though :D

So Larry head-bobs when I water him at first. Any thoughts?

When I start spraying his enclosure down he does a few subtle head-bobs. He drinks his water normally and doesn't display any 'I'm mad at you' colors, I'm not sure what the little bobs though mean. Any ideas on what it means?

It's probably getting close to changing Larry's feeding schedule.

Larry is probably around six months old now and I imagine he might need to have his feeding schedule tweaked at some point. He was being fed twice daily for a good while and I started feeding him once a day a week or two ago. I am now trying to gauge if this will be alright for a while or if I...

    Appropriate drinking water

I have been buying the gallon jugs of purified water for Larry and they cost about $.80 each. That isn't hugely expensive, but given how much water he gets, it adds up pretty quickly over time. Is boiling tap water or letting it sit out for a number of hours to dechlorinate an alternative?

    Larry's third shed :)

I had been expecting a shed from Larry for the past few days and he started it yesterday. I snapped some pics while I could. Start of his shed - Came home to this from work - He finished his shed this morning so I grabbed another couple pictures - I was able to nab...

Can chameleons have a hard time starting a shed?

I have felt that Larry is getting ready for a shed and over the last few days, I have seen him do a face stretch/silent roar as well as puff up a good time or two. I'm not worried by any stretch, is this unheard of though?

It pains me to do this, but I think I need to find a new home for Larry.

Between my new job and school schedule, I am finding that I don't have the resources to take care of Larry anymore. It is more a time constraint more so then anything else. If there is anyone in the Tallahassee area that would like a male veiled chameleon that is about five months old, please...

Please help, I think Larry hurt his tongue :/

Larry has been letting me hand feed him as of late and its gotten to the point where if he sees my hand he runs up to it expecting food. Just a moment ago he got my hand and he squeaked and pulled his tongue back. A moment later he started pushing it out in a strange way. I tried giving him...

This came out of Larry and I would reall appreciate some input.

I came home a few minutes ago and saw that Larry went to the bathroom, this is completely new though: The poo is on top, the urate is a little below it, and there is a long string/gob of yellow slimy lookin stuff. I am pretty clueless as to what it could be. I will get the help form filled...

    General update with Larry

I have been staying off of the forums for the last week or two mainly due to starting a new job and getting ready for the fall school term to kick off. I figured now that I have a few free minutes (as well as my own internet connection, halleluja) I would give everyone interested a brief Larry...

    Yet another cricket question.

I received my order of 500 crickets today from Ghanns and I got crickets smaller than he usually gets fed because I know by the time he can toast all of them off they will be plenty big, some possibly too big. I believe they are the two week old crickets (either 1/8th or 1/4th of an inch, memory...

What can I feed a baby chameleon if I run out of crickets?

I ordered some crickets from Ghanns on Thursday night and paid for next day afternoon but they didn't arrive yesterday. They may still come today but I'm concerned that if they don't Larry may not have any crickets until Monday. I fed him what I had left this morning and they were the last small...

What is the best way to remove a chameleon from an enclosure?

I have always had trouble getting Larry out of his home. It is rare that I take him out and I don't try very often, and he always lets me know though that he doesn't like my hand near him. Last time I took him out was to do some maintenance on his enclosure and he was hissing, throwing his head...

    Question about reptile carpet

I was looking at some of the reptile carpet stuff that is apparently made out of recycled bottles and I had a thought or two about it. I would like to get a sheet of it and put it on the back wall of my enclosure. I imagine this would hold some water to increase the humidity and it would also...

So Larry decided he needed some greens in his diet

I have been noticing some strange punch marks in my pothos the last few days and I assumed Larry was takin some bites out of it. A few minutes ago he looked at me and took a ferocious bite out of a leaf. I know its pretty normal for veileds to chomp on vegetation, does this offer any nutrition...

What color should a veiled chameleon's nostrils be?

I know if a veiled has too much calcium it will come out of their nose. Larry has two white dots for nostrils and i wasn't sure if this was calcium or just his nostril color. His crickets are being dusted lightly, I'm certainly not ghosting them. He gets calcium five days a week with Wednesday...

Larry is launching his tongue at his water drops from the dripper. Can this be bad?

I set up my dripper in a spot that he is near pretty frequently and the dripper runs down a little ladder for a nice little run. I was watching him and he was under the ladder and shooting at the water drops with his tongue. I'm not sure if he thought it was food or if he thought that was the...

Larry - showin me who's boss as well as flexin some new color

I had to move Larry today to modify his home a little bit. I couldn't resist using the oppurtunity for a photo shoot  Showing me he is big and bad: He really isn't liking me being in his space: Some stress colors; I knew he was getting some more color but he had some...

If a chameleon has its mouth open does it always point to something bad?

Every now and then Larry will have his mouth open and when he sees me he closes it. He isn't gaping and there isn't heavy breathing, he acts and looks completely normal. He doesn't always do it, today was the first time I saw him do it in two weeks or so. He just saw a vet a few weeks ago and...

Larry's new home, please critique! (picture heavy)

Larry's 18x18x30 arrived the other day and I have taken a good bit of time to set it up. Here are some pictures of the finished product: Pre Larry - My phone severly shrunk the picture, sorry about that. Cage stand - I actually got one of those three door storage things at target...
