Has anyone here had any experience with a machine that distills water? They sell them on amazon

i checked out the RO system you suggested @MissSkittles but for every gallon of RO water it makes 4 gallons of waste water go down the drain. I don’t pay for my water bill, the apartment owner does and I don’t think they would allow that. The only other thing I can find is a water distiller and...

Question regarding distilled/RO water and misting system. (Distilled not bad for arboreal reptiles?)

Yeah, and sorry I hadn't noticed the dates. Just thought I'd try to give some advice where I saw it was needed lol. And that's good to know about the rainwater.

    Weird eye problem

...mth old veiled) has the same thing husbandry is all correct and I'm thinking it's a light issue, a clear film builds and I flush with distilled water and saline it resolves and a week or two later it repeats, the first time it flaked off like a scab that was essentially like a clear eye patch...

My mistaking timer is not working

You can use the tap when needed to hand mist. The reason we do not put it in the auto mister is due to the fact that there can be mineral build up that clog the pump or the nozzles. I really think if your screen is shot then you are going to have to get a new seconds timer. They should have...

We seem to have a minor issue

Yes like his misting water but not distilled. There is saline eye solution you can get at the drug store. Don't use anything medicated but seriously R/O drinking water will be fine.

    Little black bugs everywhere

so sundews will be need to be kept in a tray that holds water as they are a wetland/bog plant. Most of them are also small as big ones are hard to find. They also dont get too big as well. I would compare them to a venus fly trap care. no nutrients or fertilizer just distilled water. :)

Fogging as a Chameleon Hydration Method

I would be very interested in how you solve the pink slime issue you are seeing as that would be valuable information to pass on to anyone that runs into the same problem.

    Sodium & Chloride sky high

I had always used tap water before all of these issues arose. Everyone said I should use distilled/filetered/ro(vet included) so I started filtering it and then after a month or so, the problemsstarted popping up one by one. However, maybe he is missing some vital nutrients that are in the tap...

    Fish tank UV sterilizers

I have used one to solve algae blooms, and ich in marine tanks. I don't think they will actually make the water purified. You still need a RO filter or distilled for that.

    Set up Mistking v5?

Mine? Hardly ever. But I use 10+ gallons of RO water a day. I don't use the filter that comes with the MK. I have a couple of 35 gallon barrels plumbed together. The water passes through a stainless screen before it goes through a 5 micron sedimant filter, the type used for ro/di systems...

Fogging as a Chameleon Hydration Method

I’ve heard of this, but I have three separate systems . Not a single one of them has gotten any slime. When I filled them up. I do use boiling hot water. But all my systems are completely enclosed the only air coming in as I need to get into the tubing at the top of the cage. And whatever the...

    Advice on baby veiled

It pumps the water from a reservoir to the top of the tree and it drips down the leaves all the way to the base where there are tiny holes for the water to go back into the reservoir. You can control how fast the water comes out. I'm running distilled water through it.

    Advice on baby veiled

Correct, and those stains and build up give bacteria more places to hide and stick to making it impossible to get really clean.

    Mist nozzles go bad?

Gotta remember its not a water hose. It is an EXTEREMELY small outlet pressurized by an EXTEREMELY high pressure / low volume membrane water pump. And RO does not remove minerals other than calcium/lime/rust. Infact if you buy RO water, most of the time its just distilled/DI with ADDED...

    I found a chameleon

...as low as around 15c. Ideally though, 18-20c is perfect if you can achieve that. Do you think this arrangement is okay? If I spray distilled water in the morning and evening, will it be enough? Yes, it will be. We recommend spraying the plants for at least 2 minutes twice a day - right...

Question regarding distilled/RO water and misting system. (Distilled not bad for arboreal reptiles?)

Older thread, but rainwater(as it should be in nature) is pretty low in nutrients. It’s not as low as distilled or RO/DI, but it’s pretty pure. Enough so that carnivorous plants aren’t harmed by it(they’re notoriously finicky with nutrients in the soil/water). RO water I believe is a little more...
