Non-stop wants to come out and eating dirt in egg box

Ok so you’re using soil which is better if you’re putting a pothos in it. Just make sure the plant doesn’t take over the entire bin Edit: personally I use play sand but soil is good as long as it’s organic and has no fertilizer or pesticides. Also none of those little white perlite

Non-stop wants to come out and eating dirt in egg box

Well the soil in the pothos should be organic already. Since you should repot with organic to watch out for fertilizer/pesticides and perlite. Just like you’re planting something in soil make a whole and plant it. It should not like I said since it should be the same type of soil pretty much...

    Veiled eating dirt

You could cover the soil with some landscaping cloth then put rocks ontop to hold it down and hopefully keep him out. The white pieces are perlite you don’t want him eating that. money trees aren’t the best plants for veileds they like to eat plants. There sap might be harmful but that’s still...

Show me your Bioactive Vivariums Looking for Inspiration and Guidance

When I first joined this forum I got some advise and tips from a few members on this forum to assist me with my humiditylevels. I originally had wood chips and moss in my enclosure of which it was advised to remove it as the chams can ingest it and it will cause impaction I have attached a...

    Plants Alive! Challenge

Bill - do you use perlite in your potting mixtures in cages without issue? There are several plants I plan to use in a new setup that would benefit from perlite added into the soil. For some reason, I was concerned about compaction from perlite, but not from the other soil ingredients. Cham will...

    Help me

You shouldn’t let it get too wet in the egg box as they can swell and burst prematurely. Do not spray the eggs or drip water on the eggs. The soil should also be vermiculite or perlite, not whatever that is. Just my opinion. Good luck

    Nepenthes care and benefits

...cages. is to the substrate. They actually do better if they get a chance to drain. Traditional soils consist of long fiber sphagnum moss and perlite, but that is retaining too much water in cham cage with twice daily mistings. So I just repotted with adding some charcoal and large chunks of...

...that information. In addition, he vastly overcharges for everything he sells, especially things like Terra firma (organic potting without perlite), hydrogrow (fish tank gravel), hydrogrow V2 (pumice/lava rock)... Sorry to be negative, I just feel that he has a very unethical business model...

personally.. the 3 risk in cages i always try to avoid is coco fiber, perlite and plastic.. in the wild animals are exposed to plastic and its rarely repport as a benefit ;) my enclossures are full of junk (dirt, decaying woods, sands, leaves, mushroom, bark, moss, rock) but its natural junk...
