New veiled has bumps on his side / burrowing questions (with tons of photos!)

Hi folks, My wife and I built our first terrarium for our first chameleon. We then purchased a 3-month-old male veiled chameleon from a reptile expo in Southern California 2 weeks ago. I have noticed two issues with this chameleon: Problem 1: BUMPS ALONG THE CHAMELEON'S SIDE We only noticed...

My foam background for Reptibreeze XL

Yea they look great! I ended up making one out of foam insulation board coated with drylok then painted and attached it to the back of enclosure using black silicone. I only did the back and it worked really good. Although you can only see the top portion of it now after the branches and plants...

My foam background for Reptibreeze XL

...would be to use a sheet of foam cut to size and you can easily add spray foam to it and carve as desired. Thats what I do for my exo terra terrariums. To seal the foam I would probably paint first and then use silicone which would also be a better glue for the coco coir. The mod podge did...

    Upping my UVB Game

Hey @Beman! Thanks for such a quick response! I don't think I have any branches running diagonally in any of my enclosures so I'll fix that tonight since I have some extra sticks laying around from my last project. My veiled's fixture situation is a little funky, it was back when I was...

Health check: wet poop, orange urates, and dull skin on head

He will not eat out of a gallery. Or feeder cups. Or hand-feeding. Or anything at all, ever. He will only eat bugs that crawl around the enclosure, and even when he does that, it's only about 5 bugs a day. We have to go in and remove bugs all the time. I don't understand how his humidity is too...

    Cham in 18x18x24 Exo?

Also, if you have an exo terra or zoomed terrarium, they have ventilation at the bottom which should be sufficient. Just make sure not to over water the terrarium. You need something that will provide a chimney effect if all sides are closed off.

    Wellness Check-In

Hello Forum Family! My family recently went on holiday for a couple of weeks and left our cham in the care of a relative. We left a detailed care sheet, to ensure husbandry was as much the same as when we are home. As much as I can tell, the care was good. However, a couple of days back...

Cage Info: • Cage Type - Describe your cage (Glass, Screen, Combo?) What are the dimensions? Screen cage dimensions: 18x18x36 This is fine for now, but as she grows, she’ll need a bigger cage. The minimum size for female panthers is either 2’x2’x4’ tall or 36”x18”x36” tall, but the recommended...

    Cham in 18x18x24 Exo?

The only concern I would have with using a fan, would be, it drying out too quickly. If you have a heat bulb or even a T5 bulb, that heat should be enough to cause the chimney effect in the Exo Terra or Zoo Med terrariums. Also as noted earlier, glass retains humidity much more efficiently wich...
