    Husbandry Check?

Your little man has sure grown into his colors. 😍 I'm still fairly new myself, but can give you some tips of what I've learned. About the water from the dripper cup, if you poke a small hole where you want it to drip it will help create a way in, instead of disbursing. This can be as easy as...

    Enclosure suggestion's/review

Hi! I love that you’re getting everything set up and ready before getting your chameleon. 💗 Your basking temp of 92 is too hot. Ideal temp will depend upon the age and gender of chameleon that you will be getting. Young chams (below 6 months old) and all girls basking temps should be around...

Sick veiled, sleeping all day and wobbly

Thank you for sharing photos of your beautiful girl. I do think her acting slightly better today may be just the adrenaline from you handling her and getting her a drink from the running water. To hydrate your girl I would suggest some horn worms, or silk worms. You can also place ice cubes...

    Replacing my old heat lamp

I have it in a dome that has the reflector and run it on a herpstat. Have had wonderful success with it the last 6 years. No issue of thermal burns and it pulls the exact temps I have the herpstat set for.

New chameleon owner I rescued him in bad shape HELP ME!

So, the very best source for correct husbandry info is https://chameleonacademy.com/chameleon-husbandry-program-getting-started-with-chameleons/ For babies or younger chameleons (under 3-4 months old) you want a cooler basking temp of no higher than 80. For the really tiny young babies, you...

New Owner - Stressed - Husbandry Check?

Hi there, welcome to the forum! These are all totally valid worries with your first Cham. Before I give feedback on your answers, I have to mention the leaves on the bottom of the cage. Unless it's bioactive, it's going to create a huge bacterial problem with the moisture, poop, and dead bugs...

    Have you seen this Kickstarter?

I don’t entirely disagree I’m not a fan of any heating source without a digital dimming controller managing basking temperatures Using one, burns are fairly unlikely I wish the T5 lamps did better with dimming/ramping up intensity better Along with plant lighting ramp up/down for a more...

    Veiled Casque Question

@MissSkittles covered husbandry issues that should be corrected. But that casque has a thermal burn from the wattage of the heat bulb being too strong and him being able to get too close to it... Betting the swelling is from infection in the casque. I would go to a real reptile vet. He will need...

Sick veiled, sleeping all day and wobbly

Hello :) The thermal burns are old and she already had them when I got her. It didn't heal fully. I asked the vet if something exists that would make the burns heal more but he said no, that reptiles breathe through the skin so any cream medication on the skin wouldn't really be helpful. She...

Chameleon has black chest and foot.

looks like an injury to me. dark black tends to indicate bruising... If it goes away then that is what it is. but basking is too hot so depending on if baby can get closer it could be a thermal burn. Granted it is not presenting how they normally look.

    Laying eggs or sheding?

The heat bulb is 50w, I dont have a prob, just the lader thermometer amd other 2 regular ones on the cage... The cafe temp is pretty much spot on. I will get a prob amd connect on basking branch..

Chameleon not eating a lot and not shedding

Hey there so unfortunately the T5HO and the bulb options you have are really hard to put inside an enclosure. I highly advice cutting out the top of the cage and hooking aluminum window screen to it. This not only will allow for you to put your T5HO and your basking on top of the cage at a safe...

    Laying eggs or sheding?

Ok what wattage heat bulb are you using. Because I agree it looks more like a burn. Per the temp at basking it should be no hotter than 25-26C for a female. Your looking for an ambient cage temp of 21-23 C. Is your gauge connected to a probe at the basking branch below the heat? This is the...

    Possible injury?

Ok so my only concern would be if the injury is possibly a burn. They will lift their heads when they bask and since the nose would be the closest to the heat bulb with the branch being so close below it this would be a thermal burn risk even with the 60 watt bulb.

    Possible injury?

Understood, thank you. I’m not too familiar with burns, is it possible for just one spot on his nose to get thermal burns instead of his while nose?

    New friend

My pleasure. Ok the exo terra calcium is perfect to use this is just plain calcium without D3 and they have magnesium in it. Now the reptivite I would go ahead and switch to repashy calcium plus LoD version. It has a jackson chameleon on the label. Reason for this. As I mentioned I am not a big...
