Not what i was told... ?

Huge thanks again to everyone who's posted. All the clues seem to point to him being a male carpet chameleon. I have some learning to do on these guys and if anyone has carpet chameleon specific resources I'd welcome any advice!

Agreed, the head shape is much different, and the color too! Mine does not have any color variation close to blue. Super cute lil guy there!!

wow, yeah, i googled that and it's REALLY similar. Are the graceful/flapnecks and carpet chameleons very similar? Those seem to be the 2 closest matches here. You all are AWESOME!

Not what i was told... ?

It was a friend's 17 yo daughter's cham so i'm sure she got him somewhere locally here in Austin, we have a couple cool exotic animal stores. The enclosure he came with is really nice, but kind of small. it's fully planted but it's glass on all sides except the top, with coco fiber substrate.

Yes, always green with the white stripe. varies from almost black specs on brownish yellow to bright green, but not like a veiled or panther coloration.

Not what i was told... ?

I'm pretty confused as well. the base of the tail about 1/3 of the way down is really thick. and i don't know when panthers develop their colors but s/he's pretty basic green.

Not what i was told... ?

I had a male veiled before, he was awesome. He sadly passed a year or 2 ago, around the age of 8. I was recently given a chameleon by a friend's friend who was moving. They told me it was a male veiled juvenile. They also said they had him for about a year. Now that i've had him/her for a few...

    reverse osmosis water question

You can buy RO water at most fancy aquarium shops in 5 gallon jugs. A lot of fishkeepers use RO or partial RO for fish that require softer water.

new veiled cage .. switched and now eating plant not sure if save?! HELP

I had a problem with my chameleon eating plants until i started providing fresh kake, mustard or collard greens every day. He eats quite a bit, and is no longer interested in the plants. I'm glad the plant your guy ate is not toxic.

    55 gal tank

Hey I have a chameleon that's almost a year old and i've been keeping him in a 55g setup with a mesh front since he was a baby. I turned it on its side so the screen top is a sliding door. (I'm about to move and upgrade his tank to a full screen). He's been doing pretty well in it, even...
