Veiled chameleon, probably about 6-7 weeks old, I believe he’s male (small bulge and the SLIGHTEST spurs on back feet, honestly can’t tell for sure yet), been in my care for a little over 3 weeks. I have never handles him. I feed him crickets and dubias, however much he’ll eat, anywhere from 3-8...

I live in Cali... I use these... I really like them and bulb life is 9-12 months before they burn out. They provide an area of heat rather then a focused beam.

Yup. Two words: Mail order (e.g. Amazon, etc.) :) I've had to order incandescent floods because the size I need isn't available locally.

    Help! fungal infection? papillomavirus??

The UVB is a compact buld, unsure if its a 2-1 mercury bulb. So i should move the basking bulb to a spot lower? Would about 8-9 inches away be better? I live in California city of Chino. There isnt many exotic pet vets near me so i had trouble finding someone too.

    Papilloma Virus/husbandry check?

My little blue boy is keeping me up at night a lot as of late :( About two or so weeks ago, Bastion‘s health took a nose dive. He was hardly moving and had both eyes shut. Thought for sure I was going to lose him. Called up the exotic vet I used for Beau and had planned on taking Bastion to...

Panther Chameleon Has Bad Tongue Aim

Hi! You should be using a calcium supplement WITHOUT D3 everyday to dust his bugs as chams can overdose on D3. A supplement with D3 should be used once every two weeks. Since he’s been getting D3 everyday, you should wait at least another 2-4 weeks before giving it to him again. It’s a common...

Fighting low humidity again! Please help!

Looks like I lied.. I just saw a split in Beau’s skin. He’s definitely working on a shed (and it’s about TIME). So I’ll use that to reiterate: keep your RH levels up as high as possible at night, which you are already doing! It ensures hydration and helps offset drier periods during day time...

    Help! fungal infection? papillomavirus??

So the best bulb option is a T5HO linear fixture with a 5.0 or 6% UVB bulb. This would run the width on your enclosure with basking 9 inches below. I would not have the heat any closer then 9 inches and I would drop temps as well. I do not provide a basking spot hotter then 85. So with the...

    Fluorescent lights

I hang the lights up above my screen top, but only because the hot air takes longer to escape with all sides of my enclosure closed off. Before I closed all the sides of my cage, I did set one sansi bulb on top of the screen and it worked fine, however you probably need two lights for it to warm...
