Thank you all for your nice comments! My animals are glad too ;-). All their super colors are coming back!
Yep, my Pete has a huge casque. I'm very proud of it (he is too i think). I believe it's a sign of good health. You should see his muscled arms and legs haha, he looks like Popeye. He...
@DeviousMike; some have misting systems that will mist for some ten of fifteen minutes a time i read here. But those same people must have a good drainagesystem installed
;-). Because the long misting sessions will simulate rain, the chams are triggered to drink and clean their eyes. I cannot...
Make sure your animal has a source of drinking water multiple times a day.. Spraying is good but together with a dripper, is the best chance of making sure your animal gets hydrated. I shower my three chams every 14 days for about ten minutes. It's also a possibility for them to clean their eyes.
I always give them practically as much as they like when they are under 6 months old. So i make sure that their empty cups get filled. But it depends on the species and the animal you have. I bought my veiled when he was about two months old, he could eat all day...he ate about 15 or 20...
My 9 month old male has a bit sunken eyes, but his helmet is fine and filled with fluid. That's my main focus and off course his urate, to see if he is dehydrated. I think it it just part of their appearance?
I have the Arcadia 6% UV tube lighting mounted in my terrarium with a reflector behind it for maximum output. It doesn't get hot, so no burn-risks. This way my animals have the most benefits from it. My baskinglight however is mounted on the outside of the terrarium, because of burn-risks.
Because of the dry cold climate over here in winter, i use glass enclosures for my veiled and pardalis. Much better to hold humidity (75-80%), but you have to make sure that there is double ventilation. My verrucosus however is in a screen enclosure but I also wrapped two sides with plastic...
Hi! Indeed it's better to start your own thread, but I just want to give a quick comment on the enclosure. The Exo Terra 45x45x60 must be the measurement in centimeters, right? Exo Terra's largest glass enclosure in inches is 36x18x36. I'm sorry to say but your enclosure is way to small for your...
Hi there!
About the screen and glass cages. I have to use glass because our country has very dry winters. Glass is fine but you will need good ventilation. Mine have double ventilation and a computer fan on top, which runs about an hour total. Half an hour during daytime and half an hour at...
