Thanks for the comments!
At first I kept a couple of green anoles in the enclosure, but I moved them to my poison dart frog terrarium... I am not sure if it is wise to keep pygmy chameleons and green anoles together? What do you guys think?
Hi all,
I've created a pygmy tank months ago but I wanted to wait to see if all the plants would grow and if the parameters were good such as temperature, humidity and so on.
Last saturday, when I went down to my LPS for some bugshopping I stumbled upon a group of four Rhampholeon...
Hi there! A late reaction but i'm not here that often any more.
My ambilobe panther K is suppostedly one of the few panthers that doesnt have a very soft character. From the moment I own him he has bitten me many times that left some scars. He always hisses and threatens me when I approach...
Two possibilities...
1. going through puberty
2. just the nature of the chameleon
Veileds are known to be more agressive. My veiled is a mellow guy. Pardalis are known to be more docile and mellow. Well, my pardalis bit the hell out of me twice. With scars and all heh heh...
But some...
I've used these lights a couple of times. They get hot, off course because it is both UVB and heath, but they're only really suitable in high enclosures. The reason I don't use them anymore is that they only work for about 3 months! You have to replace them very often. I also heard that they...
May I ask what prices are paid for these animals? I also have the dream of keeping this species...I am even willing to make my house fit the space I need for them ;-).
I think the temperatures you mention are not really a problem. Just make sure you provide enough shade and give them lots of opportunities to drink. Being hydrated is also a coping mechanism to withstand heat.
Misting to cool down is also a good idea. Make sure the water with which you are...
Yep that's also my comment on bamboo. In my opinion, it is not really suitable for chams because it's slippery and smooth. Chams can fall and hurt themselves and maybe it's also a source of stress if it is the only thing used in the terrarium.
I consider this light as a qualitative good combination between warmth and UVB. But you really have to make sure that your animal is not able to get too close to it because it get's very hot! Also the output is on the high side so it is really suitable for high enclosures. On the other hand, for...
You're absolutely right Carol to take those precautions! I have a close eye on them the whole time. I'm also outside putting on some new freckles haha.
Luckily in my area there are no hawks, just large seagulls. In a while my husband is going to make them a nice outdoor enclosure ;-). Thanx for...
Right now here in the South West of the Netherlands, on my upstairs terrace it's about 57 F in the shade...in full sun however it's about 77 F. My chameleons are outside on a branch or in a tree and are really soaking up the sunrays! They love it... just make sure that there is no real wind..a...
Congrats on the new veiled! What a cutie! He looks older then 4 months though ;-) exactly what Ace said! It doesn't matter off course.. Have a good time together!
