When i ship i do make customers sigh for the package. that way i no they were home to get the live animal and make sure it is doing alright. Also it depends on the animall I'm shipping, meaning what company i use to ship.
My veiled cham is in the middle of his shed. he is shedding in the middle of his body right now. and my ball python is in shed at the same time. lol. its crazy at my place with over 45 animals to take care of. i love it though.
Dog food has no nutritional value for crickets. i use a corn based cricket food. then i use the calcium based cricket water cubes. makes things much easier. ialso have a feeding schudule where i put greens and fruits in.
you can also buy a glas cutter to cut a hole in the bottom of you tank. i don't know where to get one but iv had one before for a project i was working on. good luck.
I just use a 10 gallon fish tank with a clip on lid. i give them the water cubes and cricket crack. i also put a few small egg crates in the bottom and put two of my tubes from the cricket keeper in there too. this way i can just pick up a tube and shake them where i need them. i like to keep it...
I think he would still need calcium and vitamin d. for the dog cage i would wrap a screen around it and attach it somehow. a screen small enough for crickets to not get out but to let uvb come through. And i wouldn't let him go for the fact he might not be very wild anymore. maybe somebody else...
The only thing i can think is to handle him a little everyday. this will get him used to you holding him so you can take him outside. Maybe somebody else will have more advice.
