I got Aristotle in January and he's been slow to get settled in and he is pretty skittish (unlike any other male panther I've had), especially when the camera is around. He had just gone through a shed last week,so I can't wait to see what he looks like in natural sunlight once we hit a steady...
I'm not sure of her age bc she was a WC specimen I got in 9/2012, but she is about 5-6 inches long (snout to tip of tail) - which is funny bc I have 3-4 month old Panthers that are probably as big if not bigger than she is. Very reclusive little girl but such a joy to take pics of.
I would think they would be safe to use for our Panthers, especially the larger males, provided they are gotten from an area you know to be pesticide free.
Great pic! Try using the different flash settings and you can sometimes achieve the black or near black background with a fill in flash. I have the same camera as you and I LOVE it!!
