By giving all of my pets names, I too really feel like they are part of the family. I do tons of online research and take a lot of consideration before deciding on the prefect name for each pet.
- Veiled Chameleon (male): Buddy. Named him from the movie "Open Season" where the porcupine is...
So, are the Powersun bulbs still considered safe to use for other reptiles? I use a ReptiSun 5.0 linear bulb and a 75 watt house bulb for my veiled chameleon. For my juvenile iguana I use the 100 watt Powersun bulb and have been using it since last September. I am planning to purchase a...
It seems like there are so many chameleon species that I have never heard of or seen before. This has to be one of the coolest I have seen. Those spiky little devils look our of this world
This website is a real chameleon life saver. Many of us have scoured the internet looking for help in a time a crisis with our sick little friend. The forum, in my opinion, is the only reason my little veiled is the healthy and grumpy chameleon he is today. Thanks to all from Buddy and myself ;)
I am telling everyone I know with animals to make the call. I think that lots of other Californians have the same idea because the line says it's busy. Keep Arnold's phone ringing and put an end to this madness.
I just called since I am, sadly, a California citizen. As if this state isn't costing the people enough money, they have to really hit us where it hurts with our pets. Loving the whole I.O.U. on the state income taxes too
The picture of the veiled holding the other one's nose along with your caption got me cracking up. That is a lot of babies you have there and obviously worth all of the effort put it. You house must be filled to the brim with chameleons
Sorry that I can't show you what I'm talking about, but I will take some pictures for you tonight.
I used:
- Two large Rubbermaid storage bins
- One storage bin lid (I only bought one at the store)
- Plastic canvas large enough to fit to fit the bottom of the storage bin and a little...
I have found that the better I feed my crickets the better the survival rate. I also try to make sure they have some kind of moisture to keep them hydrated. Each time I get crickets, I clean out the bin thoroughly in the shower under very hot water and I give the crickets fresh egg cartons...
Do you have a UVB linear bulb, such as a ReptiSun 5.0, to go over the cage as well? I only see two regular light bulb fixtures in the picture. Nice cage by the way :) Any pictures of the lucky recipient of this home-made home?
That link was exactly what I was looking for :D Thanks so much Gesang. I am so excited to have a little girl to go with my handsome male. Isn't it funny how we buy a female for a our males in hopes of mating them in the future? It seems kinda like an arranged marriage. I'm still not sure if...
I read a post recently, where someone linked a chart showing how much of each supplement to give as the chameleon grows (i.e. 0 months - adulthood). I don't remember where this post was located in the forums and searching under the word "supplement" will yield way too many results. If anyone...
On Saturday, my boyfriend bought me a sweet little veiled female. I beleive I have her in the proper setup, but just to make sure:
Cage Info:
* Cage Type - 38 gallon Reptarium on top of a table, which lifts the cage about 3 feet off the ground. This used to be my male veiled cage...
I have a local pet shop that I buy all of my supplies and feeders from here in Canoga Park. These people take pretty good care of their animals, but they have a female Nosy Be who I would love to see rescued by a knowledgeable chameleon keeper. I didn't want to take photos of her, since I am...
Was he named for the Billy Joel song? Billy Joel is an awesome artist. Where on Earth did you find a veiled sized Santa hat for that little sweetheart?
