    Cage Design

yeah, what the heck? its like "lets find anything that is remotely climbable and throw it in his cage." Not natural at all. Plus there are two chams that are living right next to each other and they are in clear view of one another...not something I would rig up.

    baby veiled

if you have not tried it, you could always move her to a smaller enclosure during feeding. If you have like a 5 gallon enclosure or something. you could put her is something that size so she can locate the crickets quicker and still hunt them. there are still some things that you have to...

    Looking for veiled.

I am looking to get a veiled chameleon. I want to get one from a private breeder. Who are some good ones to consider? I think I want a male sub adult. I just want it when it is passed those critical stages in his early life, basically, I don't want to kill it. I have some experience with...

    Microwaving Drinking Water?

I enjoy healthy eating and natural supplements (for humans specifically). I have done a fair bit of researching and reading and this is what I have learned: The microwave itself, surprisingly was not initially intended to heat up the foods we eat. The discovery of the microwave occured during...

    Yet another cage setup question

In regards to the humidity question, I am from Canada, but a drier area than Vancouver Island. Along the coast there you should be able to maintain a decent humidity level even in the winter. Mine do fine here is Saskatchewan in the winter with simple misting procedures.

    Substrate? also, question about plants

I also want to use a substrate, but pretty much everyone on here agrees that no substrate is the best approach. So what are you using on the bottom of the cage? I want to use something cuz having nothing just looks....well...impersonal....but maybe thats just me. I like a very inviting environment.

    Housing 1000 crickets

I am also getting sick of endless trips to the pet store for more crickets. I get them for a god price, but once I get my veiled, things will change. I was going to start a thread in regards to this issue, but we now have one and a few good links! thanks guys. Considering how much chams eat, I...

Hey everyone, I live in Regina, which is in Saskatchewan in Canada. I have kept different reptiles and fish before and have been starting my hand at chameleons. As my second, I want a veiled. After reading around the forums and what not, I am starting to realize I can, in a sense, select the...

    Waterfalls with Veiled's

For the ventilation issue I have a small fan pointing into the cage to circulate the air, I am also going to take the lighting fixture off at night so the entire top can breathe, as well as open the front doors when I am in the room in order to get more air flow. I have a VERY knowledgeable...

    Dwarf Chameleon Acting Drunk

That is actually kind of funny. Ha. I think what it is, is just old age. They typically only live a couple years and I have had mine for six months, and who knows how long it was alive before I got it? But yeah I got an electrolyte supplement to mist in his water, hopefully that boosts the...
