Ok, I feel a little better that this isn't an isolated incident... and I'm not the only one :D
this is the only thing I can think of and that makes sense.. The plant and the soil are the only outside sources I've put in the cage other than feeders, none of which are slugs... I wonder if it...
Yea it looks like a normal slug.. Like the kinds you'll see making tracks on the sidewalk, but smaller. No his cage is in my livingroom, beside my tv, intop of a nice vanity for drainage.. The only outside source in the cage is the umbrella plant, which I re-potted in my backyard probably 6...
Ok..This is puzzling the crap out of me:confused: Every other month or so, I'll randomly see a baby slug slithering his way around the bottom of Koop's enclosure.. I'll remove it when I clean, no harm no foul... But where the hell did it come from? I never put a slug in there.. There's never...
That makes sense. Perhaps I'll give it another try.. I free range all Koop's crickets, but I always handfeed worms to him just about every other day.. So he's used to my hand and does associate it with having a snack.. I've only tried the fruit/veggie thing once or twice a while back. I'll try...
 I've read they like veggies and fruits, but my guy won't touch anything that doesn't move.. Well, the lone exception is he chomps at his umbrella plant leaves.. But I've tried to give him fruit and stuff and he has absolutely no interest.. That's cool though, i enjoy feeding him live...
What you're doing is sufficient.. I like to, at least once a month, hit the bottom with a good scrub with some light dish soap and warm water and sponge. Of course, rinse it multiple times after so there's not more soap residue.. But it's just a good way to kill all the bacteria since we...
I just put a worm in my hand, and place it under somewhere in front/under my cham no matter where he is in the cage.. I noticed he definitely prefers my hand to be under him, so he feels like he's ambushing the worm:D
So what I do is give him one wherever he is, then the next one, I'll lure...
any insect that makes it in my house, except for spiders, I've fed to my cham. Mainly flies and moths. I've considered spiders, but I can't fathom the amount of regret I'd feel if one bit my dude. The moth trap is a great idea. I might start going out on the porch at night and catching breakfast...
if you want more options for wattage you can always switch over to regular house bulbs. That's what I use, and I believe many others as well. They're cheaper and do the job just fine. I try to keep my guys' basking temp around 85-95.. Preferably in between
he could both love it and hate it.. But either way, it's very beneficial to your cham's health to get it outside to soak up some good natural sunlight. Especially since you're letting him climb up trees and stuff, that's awesome, and is more close to his natural habitat, which naturally he'll...
Sorry to hear that man. That's tough. Sounds like you had everything in order. Sometimes nature just takes it's course.. Maybe none of the conditions were wrong, and it was just Grimsby's time.. Hang in there
if you mean when he's in his cage and there are flies flying around, he basically following the flies with his eyes.. No big deal. Chameleons can move their eyes in every single direction.. the can see behind them, below, etc..
I think this is what you're referring to, unless I misunderstood...
The fact that you have the mist king and lights on a timer is key.. You're little one will be perfectly fine. ESPECIALLY since you have some someone attending him, that's icing on the cake.. You're doing great, and your cham will be cool
I don't have any pics on my phone, but I can tell you that it should be brown, with a liquidy white around the tip.. Basically, it can be brown, white/light yellow. What you don't want is brown with a deep orange, that's a bad sign of dehydration..
Edit: simple google image search and you can...
i don't know for sure, but I would think it would be bad and unhealthy to burn incense TOO close to your cham's cage.. I would want good oxygen for my cham, you know? But that's me.. I , myself, don't enjoy breathing incense. I enjoy a hint of the aroma from a distance, but not too much to where...
I don't think it would be that big of a deal.. When you ambient temp is close to the 80s in your apt, how high does that rise your basking temps to? That happens to me in the summer as well, and what I do is buy a lower wattage bulb to keep the basking temps from getting too hot. That can be an...
:D That's a great answer.. My dude cracks me up when he puffs out his chin like that..
Side note to OP, you said you misted her right before she did that.. Try filling you mist bottle with very warm/slightly hot water... Even when you put hot water in it, when you spray it, it sprays at...
