Strange thread?, i would suggest if its a issue of concern, throw out the fake leaves you believe are causing odor issues and purchase a live plant, or new fake leaves that don't smell, cleaning to many times could lead to a build up of chemicals, and because chameleons drink mostly by licking...

Umbrellas can become wilted when they stay in wet soil to long, just make sure the pot has good drainage, with the amount of water introduced in a chameleons enclosure each day, a plant can become over watered pretty easily.
