We have what I believe are fairly decent enclosures for our Chams (Male is in a 24 x 24 x 48, female is in a 18 x 18 x 36 - similar to these; both have plants, sticks and vines). However, every once in a while, I will hear one of them climbing up the screen and then hear a "thud" and we look...
I am new to this board. However, in reading through, it is apparent that many of us (myself included) have been oh so creative and named our chams "Karma" (and every one of us thought we were being creative and unique :D).
So how many of you out there have have a Cham named Karma?
(BTW: we...
I feel stupid: I never thought about the water temp. Although I usually try not to mist directly on them (hitting everything in the cage but the chams). Plus we use drippers in addition to misting.
How does a water heater have anything more than the rest of the pipes in a home? If one had...
I have everyone on timers, but I have been considering getting an X-10 type system (for more than just the Rep lights). The timers are roughly set to sunrise and sunset, though I do confess to keeping them up well past sunset during the winter.
As far as keeping crickets well fed, a dry meal specifically made for crickets is best (at least according to multiple cricket breeders I have talked to) and water. I have found the best thing for water for crickets (3 week and larger) is to get a chick waterer like this one (can be found at...
Sorry to hear of your loss. We lost a gorgeous Ambilobe Panther last year in exactly the same way. While we didn't ever confirm, we figured it had to be a spider bite (or something similar) as he was healthy one day, sick the next and then died in my wife's hands early the next morning. Very...
This has always been a thorny topic for me. Maybe I am spoiled to live in a highly populated area with access to a great rep store (La Habra Pets in La Habra, CA) and near a couple of shows per year (usually Fairplex in Pomona).
But I have always been uncomfortable with the notion of shipping...
If my speculation about posters with less than five posts being hidden from the list, then I would say that the likelihood of Noob being the golden ticket noob (#10,000) is highly unlikely.
GEEK ALERT
I thought it would be simple to go to the Member List, sort by join date and count backwards from the end (since there are currently 10,008 members). This would make Noob #10,000.
HOWEVER, as I was poking around the list, I think I answered the question about why it shows only 2,918...
Always, always, always wash any plant before putting in with your Reps - especially ones from Home Despot. You want to make sure to get all the pesticides off.
My $0.02
Hi all
New here and new to Chams. We have both a male and a female Ambilobe Panther (who recently hooked up for the first time - discussed elsewhere) and a recent acquisition of a Nosy Be from Kammer (who is already looking beautiful at about six months of age).
We also have six Bearded...
Actually, the name of the show is "Killer Aliens" - threw me off a bit in searching for it on their web site.
I would like to watch the show and form my own opinions. Unfortunately, it only showed yesterday and early this morning (according to the schedule found here). The full program...
What kind of depth do the Chams prefer for laying? I know for our Beardies, I have about 14" of dirt for them to dig in (and they go all the way to the bottom).
Do they prefer a hard-pack dirt or softer sand?
