    Bit the Bullet.

Difficult but rewarding......... They are difficult to acclimate, but so rewarding when it is accomplished. I've got a group housed in a big free range. They were all quarantined in big cages until parasite free and eating and drinking well. They all had various parasites. Worry about...

please help me and my vet!!!

I was commenting on this post. I am thinking that the calcium supplement is indeed the Neocalglucon and that the above was just an error. I was wondering what the antibiotic was, if one was really being given.....

please help me and my vet!!!

Sounds good :) Sounds like things are going in the right direction. Are you sure the "neocalglucon elixer" is an antibiotic? That sounds a lot like a liquid calcium suppliment. Is he taking any thing else? If so, what is the exact name? I think the showers would really help him after...

Mékaan less color on his head, is this normal?

Male Veiled Coloration Phases...... Male Veileds go through a number of coloration phases. It is not the same for any two males. Some go through a very blah brown body coloration phase. They continue to change their coloration in some form or another for at least a 1 1/2 years. I've got...

please help me and my vet!!!

Increased chance of infection.......... What you are describing is basically the human equivalent of a sinus infection. And the situation can turn into an infection that spreads through the cham's body just like it does in humans. I had a big WC male Ankaramy years ago that had the same...

Two Hatchlings in One Egg :)

Mike's pictures! Mike's pictures of the conjoined twins is cool and creepy. Do you know if they survived for awhile? Reminds me of Dr. Doolittle's Push-me-Pull-you animal. If they lived those twins would always try to go in the opposite direction! Julie...I love your signatures....The...

Mékaan less color on his head, is this normal?

Fairly common.......... That is actually a fairly common coloration for male Veileds. I've got a few that have more grey on their casque and ridge over their eyes like that. It's not an illness or health issue. How old is he? It could be an upcoming shed coloration and you will know if it's...

Two Hatchlings in One Egg :)

Twins? I too, Kent, would like to know if those two babies ended up looking the same. I was wondering if there had been any know cham twins. Or if that ever really happened. I suppose you have to check the DNA to see if they are really true twins. But it would be cool to have two panthers...

Two Hatchlings in One Egg :)

I got a bit of a surprise today. I checked my eggs and found out that a Veiled clutch had started to hatch. Two hatchlings were together in a cute "chameleon hug". Then I discovered that there was only ONE empty egg. I looked and looked but could find no other empty egg. I have to conclude...

    Melleri Eggs (Again)!!

Congrats to Julie and Newbie! I'm so excited for you. I know how hard it must have been to have her go through the effort for two infertile clutches. I am so jealous as I'm still waiting for sexually mature Melleri. Congrats again!

my female chameleon cannot open they eyes(both)

Comments..... If she is getting her UVA/UVB from natural sunshine outside you should not be giving her calcium with D3. She makes her own D3 from the natural sunshine. If you are truly giving her D3 everyday you are really overdosing her on it. She needs a more varied insect diet as well...

    DIY enclosure question

There will be strays........... You will have crickets escape the cup during feeding. Chams will often zap the cup and get more than one cricket. Sometimes one of the two will get away. Or it can be an incomplete zap that gets the cricket out of the cup but allows it to drop to the cage...

    Winter Stinks

Sparse here too..... Pothos and ficus are pretty sparse here too. I'm going this week to the nursery again. If they haven't gotten anything good in I'm going to ask them to order some stuff just for me. They will do it if I will get more than one. I should have done it the last time I went...

    Baby monitors, dontcha love em

Cute hatchlings! Did you hatch those out yourself? They are so cute. I had Varanus Macraei, V. Prasinus and V. Kordensis for about six years. Got eggs but could not get them to hatch. I also had Timors and an Argus. I ended up sending them to a good friend when I decided to concentrate on...

Bertie is in the newspaper !

Great photos! Thats really great! Who is the guy and how did you get that in the paper? I only live an hour away from Seattle but don't read the Times. I hope none of the Seattle folks get upset about the roach eating bit. Do you get to know what sort of feedback the piece gets? Congrats...
