I just got a baby veiled the other day, and I am a first time owner with chameleons but not new to reptiles. He is quite the character. He is slowly getting used to people, and he is pretty cool but a lot of work.:)

Im going to water it every 3-4 days. his cage is screen.

I just thought of something... I can buy a watering tray for under the plant..

I can't water the plant in his cage because then it'll flood his cage

Hmm... I'm going to try not to hold him a lot but I don't want him to be a little jerk whenever I need to take him out of his cage to clean it.

It's so hard to find him in his cage because hes so small...

Oh cool, so I was right, because as I had posted in another message, this morning I went to take the ficus out to water and I had to kinda get him off of it so I could do it. So he just hissed at me but never tried to bite or anything then he settled down after he realized I wasn't here to hurt...

Ok, i am a bit concerned, i just got my new baby cham. and im not sure if hes eating. I put about 10 crickets in his cage and a few mealworms in his dish but I don't think he sees the crickets in his cage because his plants... what should i do?

Ok, He has a name now. His name is Kaleidoscope "Scope" for short :) Because he changes colors. One more question is that are they supposed to be very very active? because Scope is crazy, hes gone back and forth in his cage like 20 times!!

Ok, I see what you mean... but some times you just have to do what's best for the animal, sometimes you have to stay home, but unfortunatly the caretaker at the time(the sitter) did not take responsibility. Which in my thoughts would be the real owners fault or at least 60% because it's kinda an...

Yeah, the basking light(the hotter one) has a clamp so i can always just clamp it on. Um any names for him:?? he still has no name!!:P

The sad thing is that it's mostly your fault. Most people when it comes to animals have no idea and have no comensense. Some times you just have to cancel trips, you have to put your animals first if you can't find someone trust worthy. That's the only advice I can give you on that.

that's to complicated! lol He is a crazy chameleon. I went to put my hand in the cage to hang a vine up and he started running away. Is there a slow way thats good to get him used to people?

Yeah I just got the cage set up like an hour ago, and hes already hanging on the top of the cage but inside, I love him already:P He keeps putting his tail through the screen in the cage to hang on lol With the lighting are the smart enough to move out of the way if they get too hot? because...

I do have one question that I want to clear up, On there feet are they suppose to have two or three little toes? or does it vary?
