Surprisingly, he's not a big fan of phoenix worms. The supers i fed him today were very small, it was more to make sure he ate something. I just thought it was odd that as soon as we moved him to the bigger cage, he started spitting out all the crickets I heard/saw him eat, especially since we...
thanks for the reply.
we usually do feed them as a snack, and not every day either.
I just fed them to him today because he kept spitting out his crickets. The crickets would be all the way in his mouth, he would chew on them and then decide he didn't want it and spit it out.
So we have had our male nosy be for about a month. Up until we moved him to his bigger cage when we got our girl, he was destroying crickets. Now, he will strike at them, munch a little bit and spit them out. At first i thought they might be a little big for him, since our female is 2 months...
We used organic soil and put river rocks over top. Make sure you clean off all the old soil, and spray the roots thoroughly too. It took us a bit of time to clean ours because the roots were so intertwined.
i believe there is a thread somewhere on here with the safe soils, i just cant find it...
looks really uncomfortable. Our female has been sleeping in the tiny umbrella plant we put in her cage, tonight she's half on the plant and half on her vine.
i cant get a good picture without opening the cage and turning on a light. :o
I have noticed when our cham sheds, he gets pretty wrinkly and sits in his basking spot for a longer period of time. Then starts to rub all over his vines/leaves/branches once the layer of skin becomes more loose.
He is beautiful!:D I really hope one day we will be able to afford one. They remind me of tiny dinosaurs, so different looking to me than others. I find their eyes the most fascinating.
our male nosy be just got upgraded to his new cage with a live plant, lots of dowel rods, vines and fake leaves closer to the top of his cage. however he insists on climbing on the sides of his enclosure. any reason why he would do this or is he just exploring?
I wish we could build an outside room for our chams. I am by no means an expert, but i would assume you could use door screen. Are you bringing them in at night? Do you cup feed/ hand feed?
There was someone who posted his idea about holding up dowel rods with plastic chains. There were some...
You probably would too if you were trying to get out of the water as fast as possible while you were filled with air. i know i would.:) its like trying to swim really fast while sitting on a personal raft in the pool.
