I was wondering the same thing...I also don't know what are the advatages of spraying for 15minutes when you achieve the same thing when you spray for several minutes? My chams tend to run away from the misting and from water, and after a few minutes everything is soaked wet and I see them drink...
Well, it is probably large now, but I plan to keep them there when they grow up. I hand feed them so there is no problem for the food being lost in the cage...
Here is a pic of last week...they have grown a little more since then...this is the one that had better legs anyway...
All the best

Thanks, I still have to add some plants and decoration...a friend of mine made it, he is a carpenter and he really knows how to work with wood. Its made of oak wood btw...

The pupae hatches depending on the temperature. It takes something around 7-10 days at room temp., but it can be faster if you keep them at over 30C...
I am now feeding my 2 chams only wild cought grasshoppers and they love them. I take them about half an hour from the town, in a National park, so no pesticides there, even though they die after 3 days or so...I give them grass to eat and I don't know why they die after that period, but the...
Did anyone consider that substrate or not, chams can always eat the substrate from the potted plants!? So, is that additional substrate as a cover really a lot of difference?

Here are some fresh pics from last sunday...and a week before...they seem to be doing better, they are no all day outside and most of the day basking on the sun. The supplements Will sent me arrived and now I started a more intensive calcium treatment...Thanks Will!!!

PLEASE, don't do that to your plant. The venus flytrap is a great plant, but like chameleons it needs special conditions. Your idea is like keeping a chameleon in a pond!
First of all the V.F. (Dionaea muscipula) is a US native plant, it is not a tropical plant!!! It needs sunlight, direct...
Great pics Heika! That really looked like a big poop at the beginning. The viviparous chameleons are really amazing.
As for the plant it is a Codieaum variegatum, and be careful Heika, it has a toxic sap, like most of the plants from the Euphorbiaceae family! If the plant gets injured the sap...
The latest update is that I have made an appointment with the vet for saturday, I hope they won't mind the ride...
As for the supplements, I think I will accept someone's offer to send me a really good product, and I will be happy to refound all the expences. It looks like the vet's got only...
I just bought a D40 and I really reccomend it...the only thing is if you want to use it for macro photos (I suppose you will)...you will have to buy some very expensive lenses, and most of the macro lenses available cannot autofocus on the D40!
All the best

Hi Heika,
Thanks and thank you all for the concern and for beeing so kind to be willing to ship me the needed supplements. I hope that won't be necessary as I have talked to the vet and he told me he has ordered the Ca+D3 supplements from Hungary and he should be getting it anyday now. I would...
Well, the vet adviced me to take them to make some x-rays, even though I am a little concerned about moving them while they are so tiny. However, I can do that only tomorrow as it is closed now. As for the calcium, he will see if he can find this particular Ca+D3 supplement for reptiles and send...
Well, Heika helped me really a lot when I wasn't getting any replies from other people and I saw she really knows a lot about chams, so her opinion is a diagnosis for me :)
I have just found out about a vet who works with reptiles, but it is some 120miles from my town. I don't know if I should...
Here are some pics of my dilepis...a lovely cham, but Heika diagnosed mbd after I noticed some upsetting deformations of the front legs. It can't be seen from the pic as it is the right front leg, but it looks like he is recovering :)
I am hoping for the best...also, if anyone has some advice...
