My rescued Jelly died and I'm so upset b/c he was doing so good! He was fine this morning and when I came home he was dragging his back legs and straining to poop....constipated. starting soaking him but it didn't help. I'm sure its probably related to his MBD.

He's got some more pothos now. I have a huge tree frog with nothing in it anymore but plants so I pulled more out. What about bamboo?? The old frog tank has some in it...the kind you see listed as "lucky" bamboo that are usually in a round bowl or etc.

Finally got up and running again thanks to a brand new phone with way better internet. So I had to post a pic of Jelly's rehab enclosure. He'll eventually get an upgrade to a bigger one. He's improving everyday. Gaining more weight although it has slowed down. This past Friday he was 73...

Since I'm off today, I decided to take Jelly to work and x-ray him. That way he doesn't have to stay all day and I don't have to pack everything up for him. Its been almost 2 wks since starting the oral calcium and with great happiness there is some improvement in his bone density...

I had coco fiber as the substrate but took it out b/c he had a hard time getting crickets and walking when he was on the bottom. He would have a mouth full of it and loose the cricket. I did order him a enclosure today. Its a small one but it will be good for his rehab. I had to think about...

I'm wanting to get my rescue guy a proper enclosure. Well he is stronger but with his MBD as bad as it is, he needs to stay low incase of falls. So my ? is, if I get him one and put his branches and plants down low, will he just climb the sides if I got a big one? Or should I get a small one...

While medicating him, I told him everyone wants him to get better:-) the vets at work even talked about him during our employee meeting today:-) I've only had him 5 days and I still tear up when see him. Hopefully in a couple of months, I'll be able to post a pic of him looking good!

My pics aren't great b/c my interent is on my phone so I can't upload pics from my camera:-( phone take ok pics to be a phone. The rubbermaid he's in has screen on two sides and no lid...its a temporary place for him since he's in such bad shape. I'm seriously debating hooking him up...

Tekno....His causqe wasn't bent over but was rubbery. The bent part i mentioned is only across the very top and its only curvey...like an s. It is no long bendable. As for everything else, we took sutures out and so far so good. He hasn't also pooped yet so I've got my fingers crossed...

Hey thanks....Causqe, so that's what its called. His urates were orangish and I read that was due to dehydration. It is white now:-) Pretty sure we're still gonna xray him tomorrow since he does have those fracture points on his legs that go along with MBD. I want to know how bad it is...

My rescued veiled had a huge improvement today:-) His cloaca still has sutures and were taking them out tomorrow and keeping fingers crossed that he doesn't prolapse again. He's passing thru them so that's good. Poop looked pretty good today! He's move active and able to stand all the way up...

Ok, will check and see if we have injectable at work tomorrow. I was looking thru the DIY section and got an idea. I have MANY empty bird cages from small to very large that I could easily do some screen on the inside. With him having MBD is it better for him to be where he can't climb up...
