Panthers are more docile in general? I don't really get where your coming from. I have yet to seen proof that panthers are more docile than veilds. You are right about the owner of the cham though, that has a lot to do with its temperament.
You need a hydrometer. Humidity is very important in raising a healthy cham especially with panthers. That cage is huge for such a small cham. Are you cup feeding or free ranging? Unless I missed it in the pic you need a uvb bulb. www.LLLreptile.com has them. Order a linear reptisun 18" 5.0. NOT...
Whoever is telling you that cham's sleeping during the day is fine then they don't know anything about cham's. This is a sign that something is wrong. Cham's need 12 hours of sleep and 12 hours of daytime. The red light is probly stressing him out.
trash the red bulb and get a normal 40 or 60...
what's your setup like? does he have enough plants and vines to crawl on? lets get some info on your husbandry.
edit: just saw your other thread about the enclosure. The cage looks good.. just give him a few days.
My panther thrived outside here in tampa bay. Sadly I had to move him inside because we had record low's of 20 degrees. Keep him in the shade all day. Even one hour of direct sunlight can cook these guys without proper water. The temps where I live were nearly identical to Ambilobe...
Def looks like a burn seeing how close that basking spot is. What kind of bulb are you using? You need calcium quick because your cham is starting to develop metabolic bone disease.

This is mitch at the 3rd and final vet. Finally found one with some experience thanks to Juli.
Notice the dried mucus in the nostril.. the vet took care of that and his URI has cleared up.
Anyways hes doing great and starting to look like his dad.
Id cut down to about 7 crix every other day. To much food can cause her to lay a giant clutch. Most people feed there adults every other day. Id do 6-7 crix one day then switch it up to 6 silk worms for the next feeding then switch to another insect. variety is very important.
So today was the first time giving the baytrill and it was suprisingly easier than I thought. I first tried to inject a silkworm but that failed miserably. (I think this could work if you had a needle but I dont.) I simply picked him up and put the syringe near his mouth and he opened it right...
