I hope one day to be as brave as you and handle the bugs with my bare hands
I remember my dad used to snip off the hornworm's mandibles with small scissors before feeding to his tree frog and cham.
Looks like it might be a female to me. Males have a bulge just at the base of their tail. Though I don't know if it might hard to see on younger panthers. It might not be very pronounced for your cham yet.
I tried to grab a good one of when Mr. Puff was younger showing the bulge.
First thing Mr Puff did when we introduced him to his new home is go straight for a nub on a stick and gnaw on it.
He is ... a bark biter 😅 And a branch licker. (i hear licking branches is normal for panthers)
We had to power wash all the bark off our newly selected branches to ensure he didn't...
Oh wow. Sometimes I've seen some tiny fuzzy looking larva appear with my roaches. I always assumed those were baby roaches, but they look nothing like the babies in your pic. I wonder what the heck they are.
I've seen lots of videos of chameleons drinking while being pelted with mist and I watched the guy at the pet store mist their chams and they come out to drink.
Mr. Puff absolutely hates when I mist the plants down and if one little drop touches his baby skin he darts and sticks himself up in...
I usually open the door while dusting lunch and Mr. Puff started climbing out to the top of his door when I do this about 2 weeks ago. I think he's dead set on getting onto the ceiling fan which is a bit out of reach.
It's pretty cool cuz he'll climb onto my hand from there and now he's getting...
My daughter made me a chameleon out of ceramic in her art class at school because she knows I'm obsessed with my boy.
It turns out Mr. Puff really hates it and gets super lit when he sees it. Now we have to keep it out of his sight.
I'm not saying you should stress out your guy, but you can...
I gave that a go once. No success and gave up after how bad they smell.
I might try dubias though. They're super easy to keep alive with all kinds of veggies, though I don't know about breeding. A lot of people tell me they're a better nutrition for chams. Unlike crickets they don't have that...
I went back to the pet store and here's what they said:
Dad is F1 Cap est x Ambilobe (Wild caught cap est)
Mom is Ambilobe from Kammerflage
The dad is almost fully orange when excited and leans more red than yellow.
Anyone know what F1 Cap est x Ambilobe means?
