I used to not use a plant light, and i just got one a few weeks ago. I can already see the effects of the plant light. The plants grow towards the light and grow a lot faster, and the light adds additional lighting, which makes the cage look better. You should get a plant light, they are...
Does the excess water drain out of the rubbermaid tub somehow? I would think that if you didn't have a method for removing the excess water from the tub it would build up quickly and overflow, or drown the plants. I think for most plants the soil needs some time to dry out a little, and not be...
I don't own a hibiscus, however I believe they require more light than most of the other commonly used live plants for chameleons. Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I think it's reccommend to give the plant real sunlight every once in awhile. Or I think other people suggest getting a 6500 K...
Look at his front leg in the second picture, that bendy limb looks like a case of MBD. But I may be wrong. I have to agree with the others too, it looks like a burn. This is very likely as it looks like the chameleons basking spot is too close to the bulb.
Awesome! The tipping the tray slightly so all the water drains at one end is a good idea. Thanks. One more question, are the smaller pieces that are standing up inside the tray frame that I see in both your homemade tray and the other tray for supporting the cage on top of it? Or do they serve...
I was wondering if anyone out there had any opinions or experience with the new drain trays that LLLReptile sells for their screen cages. I would be looking at buying the tray for the 24x24x48 cage. I am also unclear on how exactly the tray would be used. I understand that you need to drill...
One of my feeder superworms has turned into a black beetle.
So I have 3 questions
-is it okay to feed to a chameleon?
-will a chameleon even eat it, will it digest it?
-will the beetle lay eggs or something to hatch more worms?
fischers
Are just fischers in general the rarest? Or is it a certain subspecies or something that is rarest? Just asking because a pet store up here in Wisconsin has about 5 fischers chameleons. Unless there is a chameleon that looks very similar to a fischers, but is not actually a fischers.
