i am pretty much in the same exact situation :D
i'm lookin at possibly getting a panther morph cross when the time comes instead of ambilobe or ambanja or etc etc...
i love how we have all this outrage surrounding one particular pet store, when basicaly ALL pet stores do this exact same thing. not just with chams but with most the animals in general.
even my local ***HERP SPECIFIC*** pet shops (both here and back on the east coast) do not know shit about...
no that wasn't it. when it was failing i was pushing the fittings together as hard as i could and they wouldn't go in any further. as far as i can tell there was absolutely no reason for it, that happens to me alot though :P lol
how many should i pupate for a new breeder colony? or how many can i expect to get back from breeding them? how long does the whole thing take from separation to new worms? it would be nice to be self sufficient or at least close :)
*whew*
false alarm, got it workin now. all i did was disconnect everything, re-cut the lines going into the pump, put it back together and it mysteriously all of a sudden works.
nothin really different about the way i cut it or anything.. it just inexplicably works now. no real reason...
nope. not exactly rocket science there heh... i even tried with both nozzles since i only need one. if i mess around with the lines on the pump and push them both in really hard (even though they won't go in any further, the pressure makes a difference) and hold it there the whole thing will...
nope, whatever you use it has to have texture so they can climb it. never thought about the tongue gettin stuck though, guess i'm gonna have to find some screen and change mine out.
i thought about doin this too, but it depends on your setup and cage size i guess. for me it woulda taken up too much space inside the enclosure and there wasn't any really great way to keep water from gettin into the kricket keeper in such a small space. for a 175gal it could be doable just...
it's nothin special, the tubing is just one of the 4 tubes that comes included with the kricket keeper, they are textured for the crickets
i don't see why it wouldn't work in the corner w/ zippers around the tube
http://www.chameleonsonline.com/safe-plants.php this also lists it as safe, so it's gonna go into the cham enclosure tomorow, incase anyone else has one of these :)
if you make the jug style like i have done out of a milk jug or 2 liter w/ screen or whatever is available, just take note to be careful not to let any of the crickets climbing area close to any of the edges. escapes are going to happen, but i actually have a very low escape rate on mine and was...
a cup feeder like some have described here is gonna be the best option. here is what i did: https://www.chameleonforums.com/my-experimental-auto-feeder-6724/
i only have owned my frist vieled for not quite 6 months and already i can see what an addiction they are. just the one for now, will definately be more soon though :)
aka ponytail palm. it is on the non toxic list here: http://www.sniksnak.com/plants.html although i know that doesn't always mean a whole lot for herp owners. i have either included in the enclosure or ruled out as unsafe all the other plants i own except this one, and there is a nice empty...
