I'm at the townhomes. I've been living on and off in Calabasas and Westwood (school) for the past 5 years. I used to live right behind Lake Calabasas but we recently moved.
WOW! I didn't know there were that many people in Calabasas that kept chameleons. Are you more near the Commons or the Canyons? I'm in the canyon area near A. E. Wright MS. I also noticed that westcoastchameleon is also from Calabasas as well.
I've been obsessed with this site that has a couple of articles on what bugs you can feed:

Article about roaches
I'm not sure if they can eat Hercules beetles, but I think they can eat the grubs. I've seen shows on animal planet where a...
From what others have said in other posts, the 10.0 uvb light might be too much UVB exposure. I would stick with the 5.0 uvb, unless other people say otherwise.
Molly:
Yeah I figured it was a pun on the species name as well. Murphy is actually good name. Also I know how you feel about rescuing animals from a pet store. I've done impulse buys on stuff like that. I once got a blood python as an impulse buy and that didn't turn out well. Was not prepared...
I just found this article:
http://chameleonnews.com/images/necropsy/necropsy.html
It seems to me (and I am by no means an expert), that the enlarge greenish ball is actually a developing egg, before getting yolk and going through the shell gland. Like a slug, that's inside it's body. You got me...
I'm curious why you suggested he doesn't supplement* with D3 and dust for a period. Is it to make sure that the previous owners didn't over dust and/or supplement* with D3?
Yeah, I'm also thankful for the oldies who share their experience and knowledge in this forum. I used to frequent kingsnake.com for cham and snake info, but I have to say their cham forum is pretty slow. I don't known a cham yet, but hopefully sometime this month or either in July for the San...
Oh I wasn't going to eat the oranges I was going to give it to the crickets/feeders to gut load so I don't have to buy oranges from the store all the time. They also smell nice so it can mask any ill odors that might be. I'm not really an orange type guy.
Nice! Love his coloring. I'm going to say it, but I'm not a big fan of the true blue nosy bes (as pretty as they are - solid baby/powder blue) I like to see some color patterns. But when it comes to Nosy mitsio, that solid yellowish green with the white stripe just gets me.
I was really hoping it would be. I was thinking of getting a dwarf orange tree myself. For tortoises it said it was ok in another website, but I guess the conditions are not the same for chameleons. The dwarf orange trees would have benefited all 3 party members: the cham, the feeders and me. Oh...
Well I tend to name pets after their species name (kind of like a pun; i.e Baldwin for my first ball python). I would personally name him Tops cause he looks like a mini triceratops. I see SaiyanFury is fan of Bleach. I named one of my sand boas Gaara of the Sand, so I know where you're coming from.
I'm new to chameleons as well and I'm still at the research stage before I get my very first. I've only heard of the senegal chameleon from another post and they do look pretty. However I don't think they are one of the beginner chameleons so I would be cautious of that species just yet. Try...
I'm just curious, did you do the necroscopy by yourself? I've dissected animals in lab before but I don't think I can do a necroscopy on my own pets. More power to you though if you know how to do a necroscopy. Sorry for your loss too, the bearded pygmies are some of my favorites.
Hi,
New to this forum and chameleons. I don't have one yet, but have been researching about them for the past 2-3 weeks. I'm thinking of getting a starter package (cage and supplies) from screameleons.com. I was just wondering if there's any chameleon species that can live in a 20x18x12...
