This is why I only buy from Ghann's anymore. It might cost a bit more but you get next to no die-off in transit.
I've heard Armstrong is also a good company to buy from as well but have never ordered from them myself.
Pretty sure its a:
Plestiodon fasciatus - American Five Lined Skink
or
Eumeces inexpectatus - South-Eastern Five Lined Skink
The two species look very similar and I don't know how to tell them apart since both are very common in Florida.
This is a good reference if you find a reptile you want...
The Habba Mister is junk. Its far better to spend the extra $50 and get a starter Mist King or Monsoon.
As for the warm water, a fish tank water heater works great. I only heat my mister water when my chameleons are shedding even then just by a few degrees above room temperature.
Just looked on Ebay.
3Lbs Water Absorbing Crystals = $25 including shipping.
(If I did my math right that's 100+ Gallons when wet)
The same guy is also selling 1 and 5 pound bags too.
That would last most people several years.
I don't know lol. I bought mine on EBay like 3 years ago, got enough to make like 50ish gallons for like $30 after shipping. Sadly I am almost out and need to buy more soon :(
I make salads to feed to my colony (Carrots, Kale, Collard Greens, Spinich, Romain, and a few other random veggies).
No Dubias can not fly. Males do develop wings and will occasionally flap them and glide a bit.
I offer 2 to 3 different feeders daily to most of my chameleons at the moment. The problem with doing only one type for extended periods, is your chameleon is more likely to start refusing to eat some of the other (more healthy bugs) bugs.
Right Now I do:
Dubias and Crickets Daily...
There is a guy on Faunaclassifieds that is selling Mix lots of 1000 roaches (1/4 to 1/2 inch) for $70 (shipping included), as for adults the average is $1 to 2 per female and about $0.25 for males.
This is a simple diagram I made to demonstrate it for you(sorry only had a minute to whip it together).
I didn't diagram the cages since they are fairly obvious.
10.0 bulbs are designed for dessert dwelling animals. As long as the chameleon can get to within about 10 inches of the UVB bulb your good (this should be away from the hot spot or span between it).
My Pump is attached to the lid of the reservoir then the output from the pump goes up to the top of my caging unit (sorry I think I read the first question wrong when I read it the first time, darn dyslexia).:D
Hello all, I ran into a problem. I ran out of Hornedworm food today, my question is there anything I might have laying around that is safe to feed to them while I wait for the food I ordered today to get here (probably Wednesday).
Stuff I have laying around:
Cricket Food
Raspery Gecko Food...
For question 1, my reservoir is a few feet below the misting nozzles (about 3 feet). The pump is very strong so I would think it can handle a bit more.
For question 2, On a serge protector (Coralife Aqualight Digital Power Center) with a duel timer (2day sockets, 2 night sockets, and 4 full...
