My boy slows down over the winter and it is worrying. I read you don't handle him much. I wonder whether you could weigh him weekly. Have you tried crickets? Chams can become addicted to waxworms. Could you try calci worms or even better silkworms. How long have you used Repeshey calcium+? Many...
I'm sure I replied to this thread earlier today, anyway, welcome to the forum.https://www.chameleonforums.com/how-ask-help-66/
Can you fill in the above form? Your little one does not look right. You may need to take it to a vet. He looks dehydrated. Have you seen any poop yet, if so what...
After having had substrait in your chams eye I'm surprised you still have the stuff in there. You have it covered in moss, veileds especially may be prone to eat it. It might be better to look into something different to line the bottom of your viv. Paper towel is easy to change when it's wet. I...
Hi welcome to the forum. This is a great place to learn. Can you tell us if her home is made of glass, wood or screen? Or a mixture of glass and screen?
Silkworms will only eat fresh mulberry leaves or artificial chow. Some have had success with dandelion, but there care is very different to crickets and roaches.
Hi Ben. Welcome to the forum. You have come to the right place to ask questions. There are some very knowledgable people on here. I'm based in Aberdeen N/E Scotland.:) your little guy looks good.
Ben, we all want to help you but having multiple threads about similar issues is not the way to go. Can you stick to one thread please and you might get all your answers quicker.:)
Welcome to the forum. Sorry your chameleon can't open his eyes. Are you able to clean his eyes with a wet cotton bud? Sometimes prolonged spraying with warm water can help. Chams wash their eyes out when being sprayed. Bathing with normal saline may help. You can usually get this at contact lens...
Unfortunately most petsmarts give rubbish information. They only see $ signs. There have been many posts on here about petsmart. 10% linear uv tube is recomended. Just because in item has a picture of a chameleon on it doesn't mean that it is suitable. There are many different species of...
I wouldn't use it as it is way too high in protein. What you put into your feeders will go into your Cham. Check out sandrachameleons gut load recipes to make your own. Look forward to see your new boy.:)
Butterworms don't move very much. Dubais are ok when you get them. If you put them on their backs they wriggle. If you have time you might want to look into breeding silkworms. They are great feeders but are a lot of work, but well worth it.
Ideally your lights should be on a 12 hr on/ off cycle mimicking sun up/ sun down . Do you cup feed? If so you could put feeders in a cup before you leave for school. Be careful they don't get wet with spraying or it will wash supplement off.:)
He will get used to using a cup. Baby crickets annoy but don't bite so you can free range them. He might like to hunt them down. You need to look at your supplement to see if it contains d3. If not you can use it daily. If it does use it twice a month. You also need a multivitamin twice a month.:)
I have looked at your profile page and his cage decor is very sparse. He needs lot more plants. For a baby he needs much more than 5 crickets. He should have as much as he can eat. Males have a little spur on their back feet, females don't. All insects need to be dusted with plain calcium daily...
