Thank you for your kind words, ChamFan1. I see you just joined today so first, WELCOME! This is an awesome place to learn and find advice and support!
Second, Zelda was literally on Death's Doorstep 10 days ago today. I was holding her in my hand as she was going but somehow she rallied and...
I put a cup of worms in with her yesterday and the crickets went to town on them but Zelda didn't. I also put 2 hornworms in free range but I can't find them anywhere today! My husband said he saw one this morning but I can't find either. I doubt the crix would be able to take those guys down...
I just read that article. I do have ZooMed Reptivite as well. I'm guessing I should give that along with the Calcium+D3 since the Reptivite already has D3 in it as well? I'm sorry if I'm getting repetitive. I'm just trying to make sure I do what's best for my girl! My previous male, Gir, lived...
Thank you so much with all of your help, Jannb! I'm going to quote the very first line on the back of the Herptivite tub because I'm a bit confused, but you definitely know more than me and I have learned such a tremendous amount from you in the past few weeks.
"HERPTIVITE is the FIRST reptile...
Yes, I had them with my old male veiled. He'd eat them like a monster so I wouldn't need to keep them very long. Lol. Good to know since Zelda is still a baby-ish.
Whoops. I just got hornworms and Butterworms. I also have been offering waxworms and superworms. I know those are only to be used as a treat but I will be happy if she eats anything on her own at this point!
Here is a pic of the supplements I'm giving.
I have been doing the Herptivite...
Zelda still isn't eating on her own. I offered a couple of crix, superworms and waxworms in a cup and she seems so interested but no tongue! I did pop 4 small waxworms yesterday afternoon so maybe she's full. She is still looking good so I'm pretty sure the RI is cleared up now. Now to just get...
Tried waxworms today. Zelda's favorite. She was so interested, puffed up, opened her mouth a little but never shot the tongue out. I was able to pop 4 into her though and she chomped them right down. Same behavior with the crickets. Hunts, eyes one, lines up, puffs, opens mouth, swallows a bunch...
I have never owned a panther. Only veileds but I remember both of mine shedding even as much as every 2 weeks when they were little(under 6months) and then maybe every month or two when they are full grown (over 1-1 1/2 years).
That's pretty much what Zelda is just getting over. An RI. This is her 6th straight day of improvement (with no downhill then uphill then downhill then uphill-like she had been doing for a couple of weeks). I've tried superworms and I'll have to check what else the stores near me carry. I know...
I've tried superworms too. She seems interested but them she closes her eye(s). She was eating about 8-12 crix a day-free range before she was sick. Now I offer her 5 or 6 out of the dusting cup. She usually stares at them intently but never gets to the head tilt and the shoot of the tongue...
Jannb~ Any suggestions on what to do about Zelda not eating on her own? She was a monstrous eater before she was sick. I have been popping crickets while syringe feeding water droplets (as well as antibiotics every 48 hours, as you know) I was only able to pop 1 cricket today and she no longer...
My old chameleon as well as my new one seem to slow down and rest more a few days before a shed...Also, their skin looks like a wrinkly old woman's. lol. That's the only way I can describe it. lol. Maybe an extra misting here and there will help if it is just a shed...Keeps us updated...
