I have seen a couple of these, they almost look like pothos, but the flowers are a pretty purple-looking color. What is this, and is it a safe plant?
Seen here in the post from Tyaeda (about 1/2 way down the page)...
It does help, thanks. Where we're keeping his cage, there will not be any lights shining right on him, just some typical overhead lights to lighten the room. I was just worried about the room not being completely dark and void of humans and movement at the time its lights out for him ;)
Getting set up ready for a new juvenile male carpet, I'll be getting him sometime next week.
I read 10-12 hours with lights out every night for a cham.
This is my 'tentative' schedule for him as I'm setting up timers, etc.
6:00 lights on
6:05 mist 1 minute
6:10 feed
10:05 mist 1...
Sorry I feel like I'm posting a lot...
I'm planning on doing the bathroom vanity set up I've seen in other threads here.
This is what I'm trying to mimic (scroll down to NolaGirl's post with pictures)

I didn't even notice that! do you have any recommendations for what soil should I purchase instead? I'm going to Bachman's tonight, so they might be able to help me too.
Is this okay to use? I already have this at home...

I couldn't find anywhere on the bag if it said it was fertilizer free, or conditioner free? I just want to make sure whatever I have is safe, if this is not...
I'm new to chams...and Currently setting up for a male carpet I'll be getting in a week or two. I'm considering buying a misting system and am wondering which one is right for me. I don't necessarily need one that can do multiple cages, something more basic will probably do for me, but I don't...
What safe anti-bacterial spray do you use?
As far as washing the plants outside, for me in the wintertime that won't be an option, is there anything I can spray or wipe them with that's safe for both the plant and the cham?
Thanks!
What do you use to clean up every day things like poo, leaves, floor of enclosure, etc.? Just water, or a mixture of a solution?
I figure about once a month I'll disassemble and do a good cleaning with some bleach or vinegar?
What's your cleaning schedule, and what do you use?
I read a lot about offering certain fruits/vegetables to your crickets, could you use something like this as well,

or is it not recommended? Could you use both, or one or the other...
I'm ordering all of my supplies online, and I want to make sure I'm getting the right items for lighting. This will be for a 16x16x30 cage, for a juvenile male carpet
reptisun terrarium hood, 20"
reptisun 5.0 18" UVB fluorescent bulb

Regular 60w white light...
We'll be getting a juvenile carpet within the next few weeks. I don't see care sheets for carpets, so I'm trying to find out what I should expect as far as how much and how often to fee the carpet, both as a juvenile, and as an adult?
Should I be dusting crickets with calcium every time they...
Awesome, again thank you. The more I think of it the more I think a drainage system is the way to go, especially as I get everything set up before getting a cham home, might as well do it now!
Carlson Thanks so much for your detailed response!
In regards to drip systems, the more I read about them the more I think I might want to look into doing something.
I see many with just 1 hold in the middle of the cage floor, directing the water down into a bucket, but how do you...
I'm doing lots of online searching and I'm starting to piece by piece purchase my terrarium set up for a juvenile male carpet. Along the way I've come up with a couple of questions about setup and daily care, I figured it'd be easiest to throw all of my questions into one longer thread...
Do most people visit the vet with a new cham just for a checkup, or only when there's a problem? Should I plan on sending in a fecal sample to be tested, just as a safety measure, or again, is this only done if something is suspected as being wrong?
I'll be getting a baby/juvenile male...
