It's really been a pain in the neck, I have found plenty of places that ship discoids to FL, but they are all out of stock. It's pretty frustrating. I'm definitely starting a colony as soon as I can get some
That is a prolapse... sometimes it'll go back in on its own, if it doesn't with in a very short amount of time, it can become necrotic from cut off blood flow. I would recommend having a vet look at it... it should be an easy fix if you get him in asap. Perhaps a senior member can recommend a...
That is a horse dewormer, that would possibly kill him. If that is worms, it's a bad enough that you would probably need prescription strength dewormer from a vet. Plus you need to have a fecal analysis done to confirm that is the problem
The conditions you're keeping look perfectly fine, the enclosure looks fine. Nothing jumps out to me as being a problem. Are there any bright colored walls or objects nearby? for some Chams that could be a stressor. Are there any air vents blowing his direction? Even if the temps seem right...
When you hit "reply" scroll down to the bottom of the page and hit "manage attachments" and it'll give you an option to upload photos. Hit "browse" find the picture you want to upload select it and hit "upload"
My girlfriend is a vet tech and says that looks like parasites but it's hard to be sure from picture. You should bring that sample to a vet to have it tested to find out what it is exactly. They should be able to give an oral med for it if it is parasites
Hey all! I can't believe how quickly my boy Ryu is growing. This is a picture of him at 2.5, 3.5, and 5.5 months (we missed his 4.5 mo pic :/) I think his colors are coming in quite nicely. His head is frequently a very whiteish color (kinda visible in the last picture) and it also gets...
That's great to know, I'll give the discoids a try...now, any thoughts on where to get those? Lol. I just tried LLL, coastal silkworms, and Mulberry farms and none of them had them stock
Are discoids able to climb smooth surfaces? My guy is cup fed because his enclosure is easy for bugs to escape. That was a huge sell point for Dubia is that they can't escape the cup
Sooooo.... not that I would ever dream of ordering Dubia to ship to FL, But my ummmm "friend" ordered some a couple of months ago and "his" chameleon just started taking a liking to them recently (and has lost all interest in crickets). My "friend" can't remember where he ordered them from...
I remember reading that they start to shed in sections as they get older, I just wasn't sure if he was old enough for the longer shed time to be normal. It's tough when the little guys start growing up, lol.
I was mainly concerned because I know (at least with sinks) if their toes don't...
My boy Ryu started shedding the day before yesterday (actually I could see a couple of spots of cracking skin the day before that, but 2 days ago was when he went into full shed)
Normally he sheds pretty much completely in one day with maybe a little bit left on his tail or feet that he...
Can you post a picture of what you're referring to? They should only have one "knee" per leg. If there is a bone deformity in his leg it's likely a sign of Metabolic Bone Disease (MBD) what kind of supplement schedule are you using and do you have a uvb light, if so, what kind?
According to the research I did on them they only affect a few specific species of ficus. I have a pothos heavily intertwined with my ficus and although there were hundreds of these things hiding in the ficus leaves, we only found a few little stragglers on the pothos... and none of the pothos...
Not only was the plant properly washed and repotted after it was purchased, but just a week or two ago we completely washed and repotted it again while doing a full enclosure cleaning.
We're not sure how long they have been there... could have been from the nursery months ago or could've...
