as long as it produces enough heat and uvb rays, it should be fine. here is a picture of the general chameleon setup...
lots of branches to climb on and they can get as close or far from the heat as they want. attaching branches to glass can be hard though, so you might have better luck...
i have a question for you, cham cages always need two lights, a heat lamp, and a uv light, you say you have a two in one? ive never heard of those, but anyways, depending on the type of glass, uvb rays may or may not pass through it, is the top of your cage glass or screen? its hard to tell. If...
Looks like shes trying to get closer to the light... the glass cages make it a little hard to put branches, but i would try and get her more stuff to climb on. The majority of people out there will also tell you that any dirt substrate on the bottom of the cage isn't a good idea. Pet stores want...
Im trying to remember where i read about this... if i find it ill send you a link, but with males they say that is something normal that happens sometimes, its the reproductive organs, after bowel movements that end up outside for a short time, but go back in by themselves... i don't think you...
Most of you would probably say that this is defensive/offensive body language, but i got home from class today and found my female oustalets like this, the skin under her lower jaw is filled with air like a croaking frog. definitely not defensive behavior, its not going back to normal yet, been...
mines a branch licker too. might be some primordial instinct from lizard ancestors... you know, like the monitor lizards that walk around licking everything with their fork-tongue. just an idea :D
you can get away with manual spraying, but you have to be consistent, a couple times every day at least. I have a mist king system, best decision i made. I think i hear aquazamps are good too, but i don't have one.
ive seen free-roamers get along good if they aren't two males. male and female, or female and female, but inside a cage would be hard, might end up stressing them out... or fighting. my guess is that it probably depends on the cham personality though, sometimes it works, other times it doesn't.
beautiful! mine looks somewhat similar to yours when he's fired up, but he's still young, so im not sure what the colors will look like in the future. Yours has way more red though, very cool.
exact same thing happened to my female oustalets yesterday, i felt terrible, she loves to be out of her cage for some reason, and she will scratch around the screen until i let her out, i'm just letting her stay in her free-range all day now, which makes it a pain to give her water and food, but...
have you tried turning it on without the nozzle attached at the end? so you have the water bucket going to the pump, then a tube going to the cage and mist nozzle right? disconnect the mist nozzle and put the tube in a glass so water doesn't get everywhere, and then turn it on and see if it...
Does it look like this?
If so, its shed, it sometimes takes a while to come off, up to a few weeks maybe depending on humidity. I got a humidifier and it helped, the eyes and nose are hard areas to shed sometimes, it can take a while.
