Every once in a while one of my dart frogs tads gets a bubble. Sometimes they die, and sometimes they morph out just fine. I can't tell you what it is though. I don't think I have ever heard a good explanation of what it is from the frog forums either.
Wild ff's will fly, making it pretty impossible to feed them off. The fly's we use over here have been genetically altered to not fly. If I were you I would look for a biological supply company that can ship flightless flies to you to start with.
Its usually the first week of May. I don't think any chameleon breeders have done that show in a while, but you never know who might show up. When I used to do that show a few years back I was usually the only chameleon only breeder there, sometimes FL chams was there too back then. I might make...
I think he should have been suspended for at least 2 games, considering your run of the mill boarding/game misconduct can carry a 2 game suspension when the guy doesn't even get hurt. I think its kinda funny though that the Montreal police is investigating it, and that air canada is threating to...
I'm not disputing supporting evidence of most locales(in Madagascar). I'm saying you can't prove what you have here in the states is what you say it is, other than pointing to photos with location data that look like what you have. But we've had this discussion a million times right? This was...
I could care less about the quasi-existence of ampiskblahblah, the point I'm trying to make is that reliable, precise locality data to support importations of panthers is very hard to come by. That being said, why should we put so much stock into naming the animals that we have, just because the...
Just to play devil's advocate, your saying that because "lots of people" have been to Ambanja and snapped some photos, but not to Ampiski-blah blah, then every chameleon imported out of Madagascar MUST have come from one of the handful of areas that eco-tourism has put it's stamp on?
Whats your point? Try googling nosy faly, you get the same thing. Panther locales are a marketing scheme for the most part, and so is internet searching. It doesn't prove much. Most people would have trouble proving an ambanja is an ambanja(short of picking it off the tree yourself). Just...
I live about 50 miles from you and I keep several species of turtle outdoors year round. Its not the cold but the hot parts of the year you need to worry about. Make sure to position the pond so it doesn't get too hot.
A while back (when I had a lot more chameleons then I do now) I bought a couple cases of zoomed fluorescent uvb bulbs. Now that I don't have quite as many chameleons, I am not going through so many bulbs, so they are just sitting around(never even out of the box). Does anyone know if they will...
If it were a burn, I would expect the top of his head right above that eye to be burned too. It doesn't look like a burn either. Every now and then one of my panthers will get a random discolored spot like that, and it will go away. Not sure what they are but it doesn't seem to have any effect...
