Very nice start. You’ve got to get a larger UV fixture/bulb (the width of both cages) and get it right on those cages – or suspend it an inch or two off the top. It’s too far away and if that’s a 5.0 bulb then its UV range is only effective within 12” of the bulb – so basically your girls aren’t...
I echo Brad’s response. I think your time is better spent elsewhere in this hobby and I think it’s great that you are trying to be creative and put more time into making your critter happy. The “cham smoothy” may also just make a mess of the plants and promote mold/bacteria. Adding more to the...
Not really, I just pay attention to the day length and go from there - so nothing marked on a calendar. Right now I am at 6:30-7:30 and by May-ish it will be 6:30-8:30 (every other week I tac on 30 minutes) and stay that way until fall. Some keepers even do it a bit more gradually like 15...
What were the temps and humidity like?
Was she housed alone?
Was she wild caught?
What was her weight like? Did she look thin or were her eyes sunk in prior to death?
Take a look at this brev … you don’t get much healthier then this. See how her eyes are nice and full. The area I circled...
With my true chams, their photo period coincides with what daylight hours I get here in the NE. I gradually change it though … slowly add time in the morning and evening during the spring months then the opposite in the fall. They will adjust better to the gradual time change instead of just...
You might have to run in it in Win 95 compatibility mode. If you can browse the CD, look for the exe file that runs the setup (or something like that, I can’t be sure without seeing the CD first hand). Right click the file, choose properties, goto the compatibility tab and choose “run this...
 Uhhh … I’ve dropped plenty of brev eggs and man do they bounce (just like Bumbles).
I totally agree that this is a “bad thing” to do but the ones I dropped did hatch. They crawled funny though.

Well if they are pin heads then it shouldn’t be a problem so it sounds like they are more like 1/8” sized crickets. Are the crickets larger then the width of its mouth or is it struggling a bit eating them? As mentioned it will grow fast and it’s important to give it nutritional feeders during...
You want the UV more around 8" away from the lid. If it’s a reptisun 5.0 then the distance that the UV can effectively reach is around 12" I believe so if the fixture is 12" away from the lid then the cham is falling out of that range - so more like 8" is better. You can try the 20-25W bulb - I...
Very sorry for your loss. Very few keepers would have spent the time and money that you did to help your critter. It sounds like the temporal gland got infected.
Glad to hear you’re not giving up.

Crazy Eddy ... his prices are insane! Sorry ... couldnt resist.
Grubco has really healthy feeders and I think the last time I checked coastal may have better prices but if you live on west coast then mullberry may be better due to shipping.
Heika is right about that and I personally would do the same thing with a critter that small. The smaller enclosure would only be for around 6 weeks since those suckers grow really fast. My female was ready for 38g at 2 months.
All you need for a baby enclosure is a medium sized critter...
It’s all on one circuit … cant run the vacuum in there so I need to plug that in the bathroom. My PC is an issue too … it’s on the same circuit as well and that thing uses a lot of juice.
500 !!!!!

Crix should be the staple and treats like wax worms and wax moths are good too. I also feed blue bottle flies to the adults (grubco.com). They may look big but they are soft and the brevs have no problem with them. On the occasion I feed mantid nymphs (ebay). They may also bee eating the pill...
Yeah ... and you can see the terror in his eye. There is a reason why I dont have a lot of photos of him. He no likey being touched or photographed. Its Nikon CP 8800?? One step down from the SLRs ... and the camera does ALL the work.
