    Pissed Cat

My cat is always so curious about water, whenever I'm drawing a bath, brushing my teeth, or warming up the shower, she will walk along the tub, stick a paw in to test, etc. However when it comes to a bath for herself, it is never an easy task. Which reminds me, it's probably about time for one...

    where to buy?

I'll echo that sentiment on the Exo-terra vines. I also feel they are harder to work with and attach to the sides of the screens. I've actually had the best luck using curly willow branches from a craft store, cut to fit, and then affixed to the screens using brass thumb tacks.

    basking temp guide

The lower basking temperature is, from my understanding, part of a strategy utilized to minimize infertile clutches. Also, I should note that these temps are not something I personally came up with. They are from the care section on this site, which I referenced at...

    Humidity, feeders, DIY

As others have said, you can try a cool mist humidifier set up near the cage. This will help raise the relative humidity (RH) - I typically run mine at night, as this is when my furnace runs (probably not an issue in FL). But also, it is beneficial to have a increase in RH at night. Also, if...

    Humidity, feeders, DIY

Haha - OT but I am having the same thing happen (I'm in Ohio as well) - I have not had to dump my drainage reservoir due to evaporation (which ironically helps raise the RH).

    2x2x4 Necessary for Adult Male?

Haha wow! That is a big cham. Yeah, I figured the height was probably the more important factor. Thanks for the response. Sort of off topic, but do you know if a place like DIY cages will do custom sized orders?

    My new blue bar panther

Agree with the posters above. More plants and horizontal branches towards the top. Think sort of "zig-zag" pattern, that will allow her to move up and down easily in order to thermo-regulate. Also, welcome!

    2x2x4 Necessary for Adult Male?

I am currently in the process of planning for Abe's "Adult" enclosure. He is currently in an 18" x 18" x 36" enclosure. I've always read that 2' x 2' x 4' is the minimum size for adult male veileds, so that is what I was planning on making or purchasing. As I was doing so, I realized that the...

    My new buddy!

It's very common for him to not want to eat right away. May be even a few days of not eating, or not eating much. Definitely try cup feeding, so you can monitor. And just give him some time and space to be alone and acclimate.

    Wellness Vet Visit - Always?

Haha I love this forum - there is never one "right" answer - and that is as it should be! :D I will definitely do the fecal for now, and give Abe some more time to become acclimated to his new home before making any decisions regarding a vet visit. I did look for a vet, and found one...

    Wellness Vet Visit - Always?

Interesting. I just called a local vet who deals with reptiles, and explained that I just wanted to do a fecal. The receptionist on the phone acted like it was the strangest thing she has ever heard :S. She said they recommended bringing the chameleon in for a full check up now, and then once a...
