When you mist, do it lightly. I noticed chams would rather drink luke warm water rather then cold water. THey enjoy sitting under the warm misting sometimes too!
let your guy settle in and maybe you can start to work with it after some time of settling in.
Welcome to the forum!
The other day I went into my local pet store to buy feeders and browse around.
Then the owner does what most enthusiest do, which was asked what i kept and what i needed for them. Then i started talking about my breeding pair of jacksoni since its the most exciting thing ive got going anyways.I...
May I ask about more details on the whole 'orange urates not being a good sign' thing.
I too also wonder what everyone may be using?
I use roaches, crickets, worms of a few kinds.
From the shots, they look normal zoomed in, maybe post some of your cham at a side view.
My male changes lip coloration all the time. mostly they pale yellow like how yours is, to a bright orange pink when he sleeps.
I think the "lipstick" on males is common in many chameleons species
Hi, I regularly dust with powders but I was wondering if there was a reliable liquid calcium available as well? Something that I wouldnt have to go to the vet for.
Thank you very much. They are such a treat to keep. i believe my female is now pregnant. Ive watched them breed on about 4 to 5 different occasions. so hopefully much more photos to come!
Can you believe its the same female is every photo? Here is a photogrid i put together this morning. Finally able to put together a bunch of different colorations my female jacksons throws at me. Check out her blues, pinks and yellows.
My male is either bright green with a blue head and tail...
Many cases if your cham is kept indoors then the cage will always seem to be off. Our homes are not really built to hold humidity well at all. Plus or minus the drafts we have due to AC or extreme heatwaves. It is important that we always try to keep it up, but also to make sure the chameleon is...
Home depot sells something similar but it only comes in 8x4' sheets, called fiber reinforced plastic(frp). You can easily cut it to size with some sheers or heavy duty cutting tool.
I used to line some of my cages with it, both mesh and wooden enclosures.
there is no need to bake your branches. that will just burn them. If they are freshly cut, they will still have a lot of moisture still in the core of the branch. If you cant stand the smell or prefer branches that weigh less, sit them out under the sun so they can dry up.
You should just take...
Your fixtures should be placed on top of your mesh cage. If it cant support the fixtures either have them hanging right above the mesh with a clamp or something. If it really cant support the mesh at all, maybe you need a sturdier screen cage.
Personally, id have the cham in a room away from the...
They are the cutest, I wanted to take a better shot without mesh but its late and opening the cage will just mess up their positions. Both are still going at it and making love! If this isnt "bonded", i dont know what is.:D
(you must be atleast 18 or older to view this last photo):p
Ive recently purchased some mazuri tort food diet which my tortoise didn't like at all. Can't have it just sitting here, is it ok if that can be used as my dry part as gut load for my bugs? I use either squash, collared greens or romain as my source Of moisture.
Thanks
