    My new buddy!

Great! Thanks for the clarification. That seems to be common advice but I'm not sure us newbies get that distinction right off the bat. :D

    My new buddy!

Ah - I always wondered if there was a distinction between width and length when it came to feeders. So would it be acceptable to feed, say, a superworm that was longer than that space, but not as wide?

    Question: Hydration (Health Sheet Included)

Chameleon Info: • Your Chameleon – Veiled, Male, approximately 4 months old. I have had him for a little over a week. • Handling – He was only handled once when transferring him to his new cage initially. Not since. • Feeding – So far only crickets (10-12 per day, each morning), superworms...

    Favourite Species Of Cham?

I'll have to say veileds, only because that's what I've owned :). However I would love to be the proud owner of a panther someday as well...

What is the best screen to use??

Oh, thanks! And also, Google is my friend. I didn't realize it was a brand name. Is this it?: "Phifer "Pet Screen" meets the needs of pet owners by resisting tears and punctures caused by dogs and cats. Made of strong vinyl-coated polyester, "Pet Screen" is seven times stronger than...

    My new buddy!

Ha - mine did the exact same thing, and for the same reason. Once I got a good amount of horizontal pathways up, he began using those. I also think it takes them a little time to get familiar with the various ways to get around in their new home.

    My new buddy!

He's such a cutie. I would echo the comments above. Take a look at the caresheets and if you have any additional questions please post. Some basic questions: Basking temperature? Ambient temperature? What are you using for UVB light? When do you mist (and for how long)? Humidity...

    Not eating enough?

If I were you I would give him a week or two to simply adjust to the new surroundings and limit any handling of him during that time. You want to minimize stress during this period. As far as a shower goes, you basically put the cham on a plant in the shower, and point the shower head towards...

    Wellness Vet Visit - Always?

Hi everyone, What is the current thinking related to wellness checkups. For a new chameleon, captive-breed, sourced from a reputable breeder, is a "wellness" visit within the first weeks of ownership recommended? I know the primary purpose would be to test for worms, I'm just not sure of the...
