I keep a Tupperware below my dripper to catch the water so it doesn’t soak the bottom of the cage. I then use a turkey baster to suck out the water that collects in there to water my plants. That way, the water doesn’t go to waste.

Yes don’t have lights on at night. Chams need total darkness to be able to sleep. If you want additional heat at night, use a ceramic heat emitter since they don’t give off light.

I have a female veiled chameleon and although I have a ceramic heater, I don’t have it on at night. Veiled chams can withstand nighttime temps all the way down to the high 40s in Fahrenheit.
