yes, always buy from a well know breeder. preferably one of the sponsors from here. pet store chams are exposed to more than a cham from a breeder that actually knows how to take care of them. most pet stores will keep them in tiny glass cages with no uvb. i know how hard it is not to take one...
i have been breeding hornworms very successfully and while it is worth it, it is still expensive to feed them. have never bred crickets but i have some superworms going right now and some dubia roaches.
he pooped just a couple days ago and it looked good, urate bright white and the poop was dark brown. he acts fine, just wont eat. i'll skip a couple days of feeding and see if that will entice him to eat. Thanks Jann
So for the last 10 days my veiled male which is 6 months old has ate very little. He use to eat 15 1/2" crickets a day plus a superworm or 2. My hornworms are not big enough to feed yet and I have tried roaches, supers, crickets, and wax worms. He was bowl feeding then stopped, so I tried free...
dust all crickets every day with calcium without d3, twice a month with d3 and twice a month with multivitamin. i very rarely skip a dusting. I also give my guys a liquid vitamin A supplement once a month. just one drop on a cricket.
use japanese maple trees, they require lots of light, but if they dont get it the leaves will just turn green instead of red. I have read that maples are safe but have never actually used them.
Here ya go, i have about 600 eggs that my moths laid and about half have hatched and growing. hopefully by next week i'll be able to start feeding them to my veiled
Much better, your cham will love it. Only thing I would change is the substrate you have in the bottom. I'd leave it bare, easier to clean and wont harbor bacteria. I have a drain tray on my reptibreeze but used a big tupperware on my brothers and drilled and installed a bulkhead in the side to...
I stopped by petsmart today because we had some time to kill before my sons doctor appoimtment and witnessed the same thimg. They only had 1 veiled. Theyhad a temp gauge and humidity gauge at the bottom. The temp read 90 and humidity was barley 50. Also had mealworms in a bowl and water in a...
Yes throw them 2 out. Any dead worm can contaminate the soil and kill the rest. I misted my 14 every evening to keep the soil moist and had a 100% hatch rate and now over 600 eggs. Probably 100 that have already hatched and more every hour.
They do care how high they are or they would not go that high in nature. They use more vertical space than horizontal space. They are tree dwellers and fell more secure the higher they can get. They want to look down on things because it makes them feel safe. If you have ever read about cham...
If he is an expert (glass cage or not) he should have known to use a taller cage. You can keep humidity in by more mistings and more plants. There are some that use glass successfully but you really habe to watch the heat because it is easy to overheat. I agree with carol, you were given some...
Im not dismissing it, but with a chameleon that cost 200 -400 dollars thats not something im foing to risk. They can get sick easily enough, I dont need to throw impaction in on it.
